“I learned about this place over a year ago. However, they were always closed when I went there.

Recently, WITN was advertising a promotion for people to patronize several barbecue restaurants and breweries. Morris Barbecue was one of the restaurants, and I was determined to get more information.

I found out their operating hours and showed up. I was not disappointed!

I visited their website and went thru the process of ordering in advance, but decided to take a chance. When I arrived, a gentleman welcomed me as I passed the call in/ takeout table.

The lady at the window was very pleasant as I placed my order. I was shocked to learn that they still had pulled pork and cake because their website showed they were already sold out.

I ordered the pulled pork, a piece of pineapple cake, and the barbecue combo with slaw & hush puppies. I carried it back to my car in order to sample it. WOW! It was so delicious that I went back and purchased 3 more pounds of barbecue.

I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return once my stash has been depleted.

I am a big fan of barbecue and have traveled many miles in order to sample barbecue. This is one of the best!

Parking: They have parking near the restaurant and across the road.“

“My son and I ate here over the weekend for lunch. We were in town for a baseball tournament. It was sooooo good! Fried okra was some of the best I’ve ever had!“

“When traveling to the NC coast recently I stopped for my first visit at Kings Restaurant in Kinston. I was first impressed with the atmosphere and history of this restaurant as soon as I walked into the front door. It was lunchtime on a weekday so it was pretty crowded as I had expected. However, I was seated very quickly by a friendly hostess and as soon as I was seated a waitress appeared with a glass of water and a menu. I was especially interested in sampling their barbecue so I ordered a small barbecue plate with sides of collards and friend okra. I also received hushpuppies. It was all very delicious. The barbecue was coarsely chopped, and the collards were seasoned (and contained small pieces) with country ham. Very impressed with my first visit and will definitely visit this restaurant the next time I travel in this area.“
