Horrible service. The server was distracted and seemed as if he could care less about us. When the meal was over, he brought the bill. He didn't give us 5 minutes to hand over our card. Kabuto Japanese Steak House at Lake Norman offers a genuine Japanese dining experience with attentive chefs and friendly waitstaff. The Filet Mignon is a recommended dish, while the Angus steak may be less impressive. Prices are on the higher end, with a family of four to five expecting to spend between $160 and $200 per meal.
The restaurant has a kid-friendly atmosphere, and the presentation of the food is particularly impressive. Although the koi pond is not currently operational, the atmosphere is still pleasant. While mushrooms were missed in one meal, they are available upon request.
Recent reviews suggest that the service has been inconsistent, with some customers reporting distracted and indifferent waitstaff. However, the food remains a highlight, with the chef described as fun and friendly. Despite the occasional service issues, Kabuto Japanese Steak House continues to provide a good dining experience for those seeking Japanese cuisine.
