“Pleasant City Grill is a good spot in historic Shelby. In fact, it’s one of the only good spots in that area to eat.

The menu is standard bar and grill food done well. The Jalapeño Cheese Dip with Pretzel bites is a great app to start a meal. From there try any of the Burgers, the Ribeye Philly, Club Sandwich or the Wood Fired Ribeye.

There’s plenty of street parking in the square and service is always quick and consistent. There’s tables on the sidewalk if you have a pet or just want to eat outside.“

“Excellent food and the owners are so amazing and kind. Been eating here since 2020/2021 and never had a bad experience or meal. Used to eat inside a lot but due to disability from me being on oxygen and unable to walk, my wife being partially paralyzed, and our son becoming our primary caregiver since 2022/23 we have mainly done delivery.

Just as excellent as eating inside the restaurant. Due to severe financial difficulties(getting by on 2 social security disability checks for 3 people), economy, and our son not being paid for being a 24/7 caregiver(NC doesn't pay family unless on medicaid) haven't ate here as often as we would like as we used to eat here at least once to twice a week if not more.

However, the food is still as excellent as ever if not better. We couldn't say enough great words about the business, owners, and restaurant. The owners are two of the absolute most amazing people you could ever wish to come across in your life. If they don’t have what you want they will always always always do whatever it is you request. You can get your own pizza box and fill it up with whatever from the bar or you can order and pick up either way it’s GOOD!“
