Will eat there again first time trying them and I recommend 100%
So far everything I've tasted was great! Ox tails P's & rice cabbage plantains akee w/saltfish Irie pasta beef patty and festival are all the things I've had, very tasty and hefty portions! I'm going to work my way through the menu!
This place is great Caribbean food in Monroe, of all places. It's out on the edge of town on Hwy 74 so it isn't the most convenient but it's worth the trip. We had the oxtails, jerk chicken and curry goat. Delicious balance of spice and flavor across the board and all the meat was tender and flavorful. Sauteed cabbage, creamy delicious homemade mac n cheese, and rice and peas were the side we got and again, all mama's kitchen bangers. The rum cake for dessert is a no-miss, too!...read full review

Reviewers mention the chicken roti, seasoned to perfection, the oxtails, jerk chicken, curry goat, Ackee and Saltfish, festival bread made to order, patties, Ox tails P's & rice, cabbage, plantains, akee w/saltfish, Irie pasta, beef patty, festival, sauteed cabbage, creamy delicious homemade mac n cheese, rice and peas, and rum cake for dessert. The meat is tender and flavorful, with a delicious balance of spice and flavor, and the chicken falls right off the bone. The ladies working are always super nice. The restaurant also has a good stock of island spices, sauces and sodas for the real Jamaican experience with your meal or to spice up your home cooking.
