La Guatemalteca Restaurante & Carnicería & Panaderia is a local restaurant in Morganton. The space is small but looks good inside. The food is fresh and comes out quickly. The chili relleno is delicious, full of chicken and vegetables. The tamale is great. The torta cubana is amazing and comes with fries, making the prices very reasonable for amazing food. The chicken torta is also amazing. The triángulo de azúcar and tres leches cake are both absolutely perfect. The tacos are loved, and the tortillas are fresh. The best thing is a berry drink that is not overly sweet, possibly with blackberries. The bakery has a lot to choose from and is cheap, though there are no prices or names on the items. The service is great, and the staff is friendly, kind, and thoughtful. One waitress even offered to make tortilla chips from scratch. Even 30 minutes before closing, everyone is welcoming and accommodating.
