“We stopped here one hot July evening and were pleasantly surprised!! We are all guilty of getting wrapped up in reviews and forget about how we used to find great places and good food by accident all the time. The AC was cold and the beer even colder. The crabcake sandwich on the specials menu was fresh, homemade and over the top good! Don’t miss the fresh cucumber salad, It’s to die for. We had a wonderful Bartender that went way beyond typical service. The boat broke down as we were leaving there and she tried relentlessly to find someone to give us a ride to the far side of the lake and pick up our truck and trailer. A fantastic staff, great food and a wonderful overall experience.“

“Times are not correct!! They close some days at 12 or some days at 2am kinda like like when they choose to close they close! II was there last weekend and they closed at 2am call a week later and they are closing at 12!!! Not consistent with time but the food is good!!!“

Alvarez House is a homeless veteran nonprofit, but when we go out we feed everyone. Alvarez House goes anywhere in NC we invited, the Wellness Center of Albemarle invited us to town and Donald, owner of the Ol Doghouse Saloon, didn't hesitate to jump on board with us“
