Y'all need to make Howard's a stop on your visit to Ocracoke Island???. I haven't eaten it Howards in about 15 years since we last visited Ocracoke. We stopped to eat at approximately 1 PM on a Thursday after we had done a bit of touristing in Ocracoke Village when we were headed back to the Hatteras ferry. We had a dozen fresh oysters - really good with horseradish and cocktail sauce, and the haddock sandwich - good fish but otherwise okay. Gotta get the fries! Looked like a complete fresh salad bar. Prices are high everywhere in on the outer banks - what it is. Nice ambience and nice service.

Brandon was an exceptional bartender!! He not only served us delicious cocktails but Ocracoke history as well!! We deliberately came here to see him and talk with such a funny, kind entertainer!! If you ever are in Ocracoke you MUST pay him a visit at lunchtime!!! Oh, and the oysters Rockefeller and shrimp and crab dip were scrumptious!!!
