One of my favorite places in the triangle. The burgers are obviously good, but the cakes or really where it’s at. The chocolate cake is one of the best I have ever had, and the peach and the tres leches are also amazing when they have them

One of the better burgers I've ever had, and the Mr. Thick is worth trying too, very delicious. Service is top notch and the kitchen is pretty damn spotless. They run a tight ship and it's a fun bonus to be able to watch these guys run a well oiled machine while you eat your meal.

This place is a gem! Chef Luis was super accommodating and genuinely made the experience feel personal. The bánh mì burger was phenomenal full of flavor and perfectly balanced. And don’t even get me started on the chocolate cake… hands down the best I’ve had. Highly recommend!

I wish I could give them 100 stars! Best restaurant in North Carolina, hands down! I’m so happy we found this place. From start to finish, everything was elevated and pristine. The customer service was off the chain, and the quality of the ingredients was incredible—I didn’t feel bloated or sick afterward, which says a lot. Truly a unique experience.

We even met the owner and heard how he built his dream. They’re only a year and a month old, but it felt like opening night! They had a large French dish cooked to perfection, and they puréed their tomatoes—pretty sure the ketchup is homemade too.

I told the owner it reminded me of LA, but honestly, the only reason it felt that way was because everything was a vibe. It felt like the place to be, and I left feeling like I’d found a new hiding spot whenever I’m in town.

We’ll definitely be back. The menu is smaller, but you truly don’t need anything else. I’d shout out our server, but it was everyone—the cooks, the bartender, the entire staff was wonderful.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Well done!

📝 My verdict

LaGana is worth a visit if you’re in Raleigh and in the mood for a high-quality burger experience. It hits the sweet spot between casual and upscale: you come for burgers, but you’ll get more than just “burger and fries.” The craftsmanship, ingredients, and atmosphere set it apart.

High-quality ingredients: “Textbook” burger features Wagyu beef, a special “el sauce,” shredded lettuce/onion blend, confit tomato sauce, and buns perfected with an artisan baker. 1000/100

Because the place has a strong reputation, depending on timing you may experience wait times or limited seating, especially if you’re after the special omakase event.

Parking: There is street parking and parking lots beside the building.

The playlist was next level. It set a relaxed vibe.

Lagana Burger Review – Worth the Hype!

They say Lagana Burger has the best burger in 2025, so we had to go try it — and honestly, it lived up to the buzz! The restaurant itself is nice and cozy inside, with a beautiful outdoor seating area that’s perfect when the weather is good. The customer service was friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in.

Their menu is small, with just a few burger options and two types of fries, but that actually made it easy to choose. We ordered the burger with both styles of fries to try them out, and everything came out fresh and flavorful. The price is fair for the quality you get.

The dining area feels intimate and fits the vibe of the place really well. The restroom was also super clean — and I loved the candle they had in there; it smelled amazing! (I’ll post pictures of it because it’s worth mentioning.)

We enjoyed watching the cook prepare the burgers — you can tell he’s very professional and cooks with passion. I even asked his name but unfortunately forgot it. The burger itself was delicious, juicy, and well-made.

If you’re really hungry, one burger might not be enough, but if you’re in the mood for a chill night out with a good burger and a glass of wine, this is the perfect spot. Parking is mostly street parking, and there are a few spots nearby. Just a heads-up — if it’s raining, you’ll probably have to walk a bit in the water.

Overall, I’d definitely go back again for the same thing — the burger, the wine, and the cozy atmosphere.

Great little find! The food is delicious, chef driven and locally sourced. The open kitchen serves a small menu which is creative, intentional and changes seasonally. No full bar but the libations offered were curated and refreshing. Smash burgers, Cuban, tostones, fries … all fantastic. However , the space is extremely limited with lunch counter bar seating and very small bench tables. We were a party of 8 seated at the counter, which at first was not favorable. However, the experience, food and attention to detail well made up for the tight accommodations.

This was the best experience in trying somewhere new. The menu is small but high quality ingredients and memorable flavors. The service was also amazing. Carlos Sr. the owner and pastry chef came to our table and chatted with us and took such good care of us.
We will be back
