Went for the first time Saturday night planning to listen to music about an hour. We ended up staying over three hours, until the music stopped. Joe and Storm brought it, the energy was amazing and the staff so friendly. We will definitely be back with a crowd next time these two are performing.

The Cardinal Bar is a popular dive bar located in downtown Raleigh, known for its fun vibes and strong, cheap drinks. The bar features a beach-like atmosphere with quirky signs about not being an a$$hole throughout the building. The hot dogs, especially with pickled okra, are highly recommended and considered some of the best around. Vegetarian options are available in the form of veggie dogs, which are very tasty and a favorite among regulars. The bar offers a solid beer and liquor selection, and there is a great view of DTR along with decent porch space for outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and attentive, making it a favorite spot for many locals. The bar is wheelchair accessible via the entrance at the back of the building, and the pinball machine and music add to the lively atmosphere.
