Had a great meal with friends last night. Our chef/waiter was top notch- the rainbow is lucky to have this guy. All meals in our group were very tasty, hot, and of good value.

I came with friends during Dreamville. We had the fried chicken sandwich and the burger add bacon. We still think about those sandwiches to this day. It was so seasoned just absolutely delicious!! Can’t wait to come back next year. They were also playing dreamville music which was nice.

Great diner food with pricing to match. Small booths and counter to sit at add to the vibe but not great for large parties.

I've been to the Rainbow Luncheonette several times. Each time I order something different and each time I leave happy and full. Thus far, I've only been for breakfast/lunch, but I'm looking forward to stopping in for a steak dinner someday. The prices are reasonable, especially for the portions dolled out. I recommend the bologna sandwich if they've still got supply when you're there. Great spin on a BLT. And of course, the biscuits and gravy are where its at. There are no four tops, so if you have a party greater than 2 you'll need to sit at the counter.

This is one of those times where I almost want to keep this place a secret so I don't have to set reservations, but they honestly deserve all the success, so here's your five star. First off, it's our favorite spot so far here in Raleigh. Food is perfect, atmosphere is chill and welcoming. Feels like a modern take on a diner, but with great dishes. We desperately need more of this!

This is a no frills neighborhood type spot with bar stools at the counter for about 14 people and about 5 tables for two.The menu is enough where you can pick what you want in about 3-5 minutes.I ordered 3 scrambled eggs with cheese and some Texas toast and a cup of coffee. As simple as this plate was, I could not stop saying to myself how freaken good the eggs tasted. For the majority of the places that serve eggs, seasoning is an afterthought. Not here are the Rainbow Luncheonette. They were amazingly seasoned, i could taste the fresh ground pepper, and they were the perfect texture. The Texas toast were delicious as well. Cooked to perfection on the grill with the perfect amount of butter.Even the coffee is good. I had 3 cups of coffee, which is 2 more than I usually have at these types of places. This place reminded me of the counter breakfast spots in Brooklyn, NY back in the 80’s. Although the eggs never tasted this good.

Seat yourself. If it's full, wait at the front for space to open up. It's well worth the short wait. Best burger I've had in town. Fries were perfect. Service was great though a bit busy on Sunday morning. Fantastic diner experience for small parties.

Mom and Pop feel, intimate, good for large groups(30 seats) looking to split into smaller groups. Really nice crew. Steak dinner $35 in the evening is cheap. I had the breakfast platter sausage, eggs, hash browns, pancakes! Wow!!

Awesome steak, perfectly cooked baked potatoe, pickled okra on the salad was a tasty addition. The Blueberry cheese cake OMG!!

The best hole in the wall place I have ever been. The food reminded me of my grandmother’s breakfast growing up and made me SUPER emotional. 10/10 would recommend.

This place is healing. I am so comfortable here, and the flavors are inconceivable; you just have to go. Undeniable quality and care from start to finish. The cooks are incredibly talented.

This is a great low-key place with upscaled comfort food. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Do know the booths seat only two people, but the lunch counter is large.

WOW!!! Definitely a luncheonette ! Great service, steak and eggs perfectly cooked and seasoned! Grits were amazing. I noticed the gentleman next to me ordered the corned beef, (slices) hash, and eggs. I’m having that next time. Great new place(open since November). The menu has slightly changed so I posted a new menu.Wow!!!
