Neat little place. It was clean, but the food was only mediocre. I got fried chicken and mashed potatoes with green beans. Potatoes were very soupy, and green beans tasted like they had sugar in them, which i hate cornbread also too sweet just not my thing.. Husband got fish with french fries and slaw. The slaw was grated extremely small fish was ok but portion was very small the fries were good. We would give it another try, but we would definitely try something else on the menu.

We went there on a Saturday and ordered the special which was fried chicken. It came out very quickly the service was very thoughtful and very courteous, and the place was very clean. The chicken was cooked well, and the sides were great. This is what I want when I come to a home cooking style restaurant. Nothing fancy nothing fluffed up whipped up pureed or filled aid to make it look like something it's not. This is honest good clean food served right!

Had breakfast here, previously. Tried lunch today…pot roast was very dry - had to ask for gravy to make it edible. Rolls looked to have come right from the plastic bag - not warmed or anything. I suppose everything comes premade from suppliers these days, and many restaurants simply open it and serve.

The fried chicken breast was a little too on the dry side to enjoy. But the wing was tasty. But everyone else at my table enjoyed their meals, except for the one who had mac n chz. He said he would not order that again. But it's worth going back to try again.

My family and I came for our Valentine's Day dinner. There was a little wait, but it was so worth it. The service was fast and the food was totally good. It had the perfect energy for the evening and the best part is it is in our town. I didn't have to drive for a hour or look for parking. I can't wait to go back.

Absolutely a good spot to check out in this small and growing town of Sanford. Hidden away yet they make a big impact when you see their menu. They have a diner vibe yet a country kitchen theme and i enjoyed the salmon cakes i ordered. Service was very friendly and i truly enjoyed the welcoming ora.

Southern food the way you expect it to be done. Sorry clean and nice, modern looking like a fresh remodel. The food came out really fast even though the place was packed, but that could be sure to Saturday is chicken special day. Would recommend.

I grew up in Sanford, but left over 40 years ago for a career in New York. The Dairy Bar was where we went as teens for some "good grease" after partying. I have retired home and am happy to see The Dairy Bar is so little changed after decades. Still serving essential delicious diner food, great dishes, salads, and ice cream. Best diner in town for the past half century!

This is another place that is only considered "good" by the boomers locally who never traveled or left outside this county. The place is very mid. Lacks complex flavors and you wait forever for your food. It's just okay.

Decent every day food. They could step up their gravy game all around. The sausage gravy has too much grease and not enough milk. The brown gravy on the meatloaf is just bad. Probably comes in a large can ftom sams or commercial supplier. The turkey gravy is similar to the brown gravy.
