“Natalie was awesome at explaining rolls vs hoagies. Never had to ask twice for anything. She went above and beyond. Good to see young kids with good work ethics and manners.“

“We have been coming here for special occasions for a while now and it never lets us down. Walking into that renovated historic building on Lafayette Street, the atmosphere gets you right away. It feels like somewhere you'd drive an hour to eat at, and honestly people do.
We started with the mushroom tart, which is one of those appetizers that sounds simple but is really something. Delicate pastry, savory mushrooms, great cheese. Then I had the filet and my wife had the salmon. Both were cooked exactly right. The portions are generous for a fine dining spot and the prices are fair, especially compared to what you'd pay in Charlotte for the same quality.
The service is attentive without hovering. They know the regulars and make first-timers feel just as welcome. On weekends the acoustic guitarist, Eddie Cook, plays in the background which adds a lot to the atmosphere without ever getting in the way of conversation. If you haven't been, make a reservation and go soon. There's really nothing else like it in this part of the state.“
