Visiting family and stopped for lunch. Just the two of us, no kids 😀. Took reviews online and decided to eat here. I just refuse to eat at chain food places on vacations. We ordered the beef po-boy, mulfaletta, and gumbo. So much food that we couldn't fit in the beignets.🫤 The wife was thrilled that she could get a Sazarek cocktail, a classic New Orleans drink. Quiet, fast service, and the food was amazing. Don't be fooled by the small sized restaurant....
We stopped here on our way home from vacation last year and made plans immediately to stop back this year! The food is Amazing. Authentic New Orleans cuisine made to perfection. You can tell the chef is top shelf. So much flavor! I think the beignets are better here than in the French Quarter. Everyone is so friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you are anywhere even close!
We had to order to go because no children after 5pm, but no problem! Everything was absolutely amazing. We definitely will be taking a 5hr trip to enjoy more on the menu. The Gumbo was heavy on the salt and the rice could have been cooked more. Fried okra, best I've ever had, crispy and flavorful. My daughters enjoyed the grilled shrimp and fries and my son gave the catfish poboi a 10/10. My husband had the blackened seabass, AMAZING! Seasoned to perfection. Wonderful food.
