Alpaca is a Peruvian restaurant known for its simple yet satisfying menu and flavorful dishes. Regular visitors appreciate the quality of food, especially the Lomo Saltado, which features marinated steak, rice, tomatoes, fries, and onions. Maduros are also consistently well-prepared and highly enjoyed. While some find certain menu items a bit pricey, the overall quality and taste justify the cost. The Wake Forest location offers plenty of seating and a nice atmosphere, although parking can be tight. The restaurant staff is praised for their excellent service, with attentive team members who are helpful and polite, enhancing the dining experience. The manager is quick to resolve any issues, demonstrating a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Dine-in service is often complemented by staff members who check in regularly, making guests feel well cared for. Takeout customers frequently order favorites like Lomo Saltado and Polo Saltado, though some notice recent recipe changes, such as a thicker sauce in saltado dishes, which they hope is temporary. Overall, Alpaca provides consistently good food and friendly service, making it a popular spot for those seeking authentic Peruvian flavors.
