We recently spent a long weekend in Washington, and after a long day at the ballpark, the family was ready to sit and have a good meal. We selected Parle with no advice nor recommendations. Frankly, I'm glad we visited, and I'll go back often. The interior of this restaurant is a bit surprising. I'm not sure how it was conceived, but it works well. The food was uneven. Some was horrible and some was pretty good.The crab soup was horrible. No crab flavor! Also the soup had celery in it. Ick!We had calamari appetizer. It was just okay.And I got bacon wrapped scallops. The bacon was raw and inedible, but the scallops were divine! Large, meaty, and very tasty.

Right on the river. You could tell it was a newer place and they were figuring it out. That did not take away from the excellent meal we had. One thing I really like is they offer smaller portions of meals (like shrimp and grits) which makes dining while travelling more manageable.
