“One of our favorite restaurants in South Charlotte. Amazing sides, tasty and healthy. We get take out from here weekly and it’s consistently good and fresh. And the homemade baklava is sooo fresh and tasty. Best I’ve ever eaten (and I love baklava).“
“Maxwell's is a fantastic little spot in downtown Waxhaw. It's also very popular, which is great for the restaurant, but makes it a challenge when we wanted to have lunch today. The place was packed with a bunch of people waiting outside. We put our name on the list and were told it would be about 40 minutes. No biggie, Waxhaw has plenty to offer while we wait. It's so good that this place is so well known and popular.Today I got the Grilled Salmon Salad. The salad is what is to be expected - fresh greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, croutons, hard boiled egg. Everything was fresh and tasty. On top was a spectacular piece of salmon, grilled perfectly and arrived smelling like Sunday brunch, as it was cured with maple syrup. That made it very unique. Interestingly, the aroma was wonderful, but the flavor just wasn't there. The fish itself tasted great, but the maple never really hit my tastebuds. Could be because it was lightly blackened (by design) and the crust formed there took away some of the sweetness? The fish was great, don't get me wrong, but it smelled better than it tasted. When we return, I'll get it again. I just wish the taste had a stronger maple flavor. Our pescatarian middle schooler got mozzarella sticks and hummus with pita. The sticks seemed pretty standard fare, but our kid really raved about how good the hummus was.As for the atmosphere, the room is bright and inviting, with classic looking tools and components on the walls. Plenty of TV's with sports. Although it was one room that was packed with people, we could still hear ourselves and carry on conversations at our table. Maxwell's loses a start for atmosphere because the tables were too jam packed together. Servers and patrons alike kept bumping into our chairs as they walked by (but everyone was polite about it). I was guilty of this too when navigating to the bathroom, as I couldn't avoid chairs which were back-to-back on my way across the room. We were seated near the bar, which is where people would stand around while waiting for a table. For some of the meal, a gentleman's behind was hovering right over my wife's shoulder as were waiting for our food to arrive. The constant bumping took away a little from our experience. If we were in a booth, we probably wouldn't have been impacted.Maxwell's is a fabulous restaurant and is a great reason to visit downtown Waxhaw!Vegetarian options: Our kid is a pescatarian and got mozzarella sticks and hummus with pita. They said it was really good hummus, so that's good. There are plenty of salads to choose from, plus a garden burger.Parking: Street parking is okay, with parallel parking on one side and angled parking on the other. You can always park around the corner on South Providence Street too.Kid-friendliness: There were plenty of kids in the restaurant from toddlers to middle schoolers. There's a kids menu with crayons too.“
“Usually the food is amazing here. I just ordered a salad with lamb and picked up. The salad was basically whole leaf barely cut as well as the lamb. Large slices that needed to be cut up. Also needed to heat up the lamb as it was not hot and it had only been 10 mins since I picked up. Maybe it is a busy night or someone just doesn’t know to cut up food. I will try again but was surprised.“
“One of my all-time favorite spots for a quiet and healthy Greek lunch or dinner. My favorite is the Village Greek with gyro, they give me fresh sliced lemon for my dressing. There isn't lettuce in it, it includes amazing stuffed grape leaves, cucumbers, tomatoes onion, green pepper and feta cheese. I enjoy the pita bread in the taziki sauce. I have also had the feta burger, the spanakopita and they serve wine and beer as well as other beverages. I have never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for any dish I've ordered they are very quick in the food is very fresh.“
“Had lunch today w a girlfriend at the Blakeney location and was served an outstanding platter...Chose shrimp as my protein, and the shrimp was slightly garlicy and lemony ( perfect!) , the pilaf was fluffy and seasoned perfectly, and the side Greek salad, well...what can you say ~ awesome, of course. Wonderful, guys! keep up the great meals !“
“Food came out hot and fresh from the kitchen. Stuffed grape leaves were flavorful and the spinach pie was good. Only minor complaint was cashier charged a credit card fee when bill was paid with cash. Had to point out they overcharged, which seemed to confuse the cashier on how to refund it.“
“After a wonderful lunch at Ilios Noche, I must rave about the delicious and varied menu. We had the most courteous and professional server, Trip. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. I have never had a better meal, great atmosphere and awesome service. Please do yourself a favor and have a meal at Ilios, especially if you are gluten-free. They have a fantastic choice of Mediterranean fare. This has made our Sunday afternoon a very pleasant experience.Dietary restrictions: If you are gluten-free, the Mediterranean menu offers a very wide selection of wonderfully delicious meals.Wheelchair accessibility: Since I am in a wheelchair, I found it easy to enter and exit the restaurant. The staff was quick in holding doors open. Sat at a table comfortably.“
“The chicken souvlaki platter was all-encompassing fulfilling and delicious. I was happy that you were still providing a fresh meal that late in the evening (because some restaurants microwave food), and I still had enough to take to work the next day (but wished I had more), and still tasted delicious. Your staff, especially the desk staffer that took my order, were wonderful to interact with (especially when you just want to go home, eat, do no exercise, and sleep). Thank you for the great transition!“
“The food here was delicious and a very diverse menu. My bf and I stumbled upon this place by chance. We were trying to decide between this place and another. So glad we chose this one. I had the 4 side vegetable plate and he had the fried white fish. When I say everything was great, I mean everything. We had no complaints and will definitely be back soon. Great southern food at a great price.“
“I just have to say what a great place this is! I’ve been ordering here for years. Their food is always fresh and flavorful and the people working there are courteous! Tonight I ordered from Door Dash and wanted extra Pita. There wasn’t a place to order on the app and I told the gal on the phone I was happy to pay for it. She said, “no problem, I’ll throw some in no charge.” I told her she was the bright spot in my otherwise difficult day. And when I opened my order I saw this message on the box. It almost made me cry because I had just come from cleaning out my Moms house and she recently passed away. Kindness is so meaningful and this person had no idea what was going on-she’s just a wonderful person spreading kindness. Thank you Greco Fresh! The food is enough to keep me coming back but now they have a customer for life. ?“
“Showmars is a great spot with super fresh ingredients and fast, friendly service. They have fresh salads, juicy grilled chicken, THE BEST tzatziki sauce, gyro, pitas, cheeseburgers, fried chicken sandwiches, pasta salad, the list goes on. You'll get a lot for your dollar as their portion sizes are pretty substantial! They are "Greek Southern" in their approach to food. They offer a casual order-at-the-counter-and-grab-a-number style dining experience which makes it perfect for a quick lunch or dinner with a group. The staff come around and make sure your drinks are refilled. Showmars is our go-to spot and I think if you give it a try, you'll agree!“
“We had a salad with the chicken kabob. Very fresh tasty. The kabob was flavorful and most, not over or under done. Also had the chicken gyro. One of the best. Read someone else's review about the fries. The oopah fries are very flavorful with the herbs and feta. Will definitely go again when in the area.“
“Stopped in for a Philly Cheesesteak and after looking at the menu purchased a large "Black n Blue" Cheesesteak. Positively delicious. Everything was great about it ... the wheat roll was warm and tasty, the steak was tender and tasty without any grill fried taste to it, and the onions and peppers were tasty as well.We appreciated that the owner or manager immediately told us about a 15% discount coupon and showed us how to use it when ordering. What a great find in our own neighborhood !“
“I used to love going to Showmars and was excited to go there for a quick lunch when I was visiting the area recently. The food is ok, but not as good as it used to be, and the burgers were much smaller. The prices are very reasonable. The service was great, as always. The restaurant was not very clean. There were a lot of tables that needed to be wiped down, which is to be expected at a busy time of day, but it was overall not very clean.“
“6/16/23. A group of 20 of my sewing group ate at Mr G's, trying out the restaurant under new ownership. A couple of mix ups, when one of our guys got someone's vegetarian gyro. Got that quickly solved, and he decided that it was delicious too! Hot onion rings with real onion, great gizzard, pork chops, fish sandwich, hamburgers. All was fresh and hot from the kitchen and great service! We are very happy with the new "Mr G's", even though we miss Bill and the crew who had served us so well over the years. We will be back!!Vegetarian options: The kitchen will accommodate your preferences with no problems“
“I have been coming to this location for 5 years ! When I moved to Charlotte 5 yrs ago I found this little gem right next to the apartments I lived in at the time. Its been about a year since eating there, visited again last week and the food is still amazing!!Had the pleasure of meeting the new GM he was so nice!Customer Service is top notch here just like the food !!My favorite is the Mediterranean Salad with Salmon!!!!You will not be disappointed!!“
“I've had the falafel pita, twice, dined in, and the Greek salad & falafel, take out. I don't know elsewhere to get falafel so it's good. A bit dry but not overcooked. They always offer extra tzaziki, yay.I prefer my falafel with lots of flavor, onions and sauce. But overall, I think you'll enjoy the meal. Price is comparable to other similar eateries. Overall, it's satisfactory.Vegetarian options: Falafel, Greek salads hummus & pita are all vegetarian optionsParking: I've been there 3x in afternoons mostly and parking was very available. Nonetheless it's adjacent to a Target shopping center so you should find parking.Kid-friendliness: Wesley Chapel seem to have civil people. So it's a nice normal setting with nice normal children.Wheelchair accessibility: There's handicap parking and accessibility“
