Cafe Mata Reviews
Amazing drinks and friendly staff. Didn’t try a pastry today but they looked amazing!

I have to tell everyone in Wilmington… THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! I’m Japanese, and was having a hard time finding good matcha in this town… and I found Hojicha latte! I was skeptical to be honest but had to give a shot. They taste as close as it gets to the ones I grew up with. Can’t wait to try matcha next time.

Cafe Mata is a restaurant in Wilmington that has impressed many customers. The coffee is phenomenal no matter what is ordered, and the espresso is smooth and of very high quality. The drinks are creative and tasty, and the food is also excellent. The Hojicha latte tastes as close as it gets to the ones a customer grew up with, and the Salty Vietnamese latte is the best one ever had. The Lemon Poppyseed Loaf is highly recommended, and the banana split special is delicious. Cafe Mata is completely plant based, and prices are fixed with no oat milk or almond milk up charge. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with many large, well taken care of plants and hanging plants for the aesthetic. It is attached to a yoga studio and pottery shop. The staff are wonderful and kind, even willing to remake the drink if it is not enjoyed. The vibes, staff, and coffee are all impeccable. Cafe Mata feels like the only coffee place in Wilmington that is worth the price and the drive, and it is one of the best coffee shops in Wilmington.
