We stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday. It was our first visit to Katy's. We hit the jackpot. My wife was thinking she'd like a burger and wouldn't you know, they had half price burgers. They were fantastic! I had tots and she had onion rings. The tots were excellent. The onion rings were hand dipped in a really light batter that reminded me of Calabash style fry batter. We will be back to Katy's. Maybe on a Wednesday to take advantage of the half price chicken sandwiches!
The service was good, food was overcooked. The mac and cheese was just mush, the bartender and the waitress were very friendly. The atmosphere is the same as it's been for decades and it could really use an updating, because it seems like it's very difficult for waitresses to see who's in the corner. There was one waitress who refused to get us a drink with our meal, and told us we should just go sit in the bar if we want to drink.
