Sylvia’s Restaurant Buffet offers an all you can eat homemade Southern style buffet with lemonade and sweet tea included in the price. The restaurant has that southern small town feel with a relaxed dining environment. Service is great; everyone smiles and greets you, and the wait staff is on point, coming by like clockwork for refills. The buffet is smallish but has enough choices. Vegetables are country seasoned, with tender green beans, potatoes, butterbeans, cabbage, and yams. Cream potatoes are smooth and not runny, holding the gravy from the hamburger steak. The mac and cheese is great with more cheese baked on top. Meats include tender pork chops and hamburger steaks, chicken pastry, and different kinds of chicken (bbq, fried, baked). Desserts include warm banana pudding, peach cobbler, fresh cookies, and an oreo and ice cream dish. The REAL strawberry shortcake from scratch is also available. The atmosphere is peaceful and comfortable, though the space can be tight and finding a table without being directed can be awkward. Some note the pork chops run out and the food is not always consistent, but the food is good and worth a try.
