“This place is cozy (when it is not packed and loud). I've visited here twice now. The first time was wonderful as the lady who took my order was very helpful and nice. I ordered a smoothie bowl, and it was absolutely amazing and fresh! The second time was "just okay" as the lady who took our order kept laughing and repeating everything I said as I gave her my coffee order. She kept laughing so much that I had to keep repeating what I told her the first 2 times. I ordered a small iced caramel latte with stevia, 2 pumps of sugar-free vanilla, and 1 pump of sugar-free hazelnut. As she kept laughing (as if it was an off the wall order), I was kind of getting annoyed. After she wrote everything down on my cup, she proceeded to ask while laughing, "You want all of that in this size cup?" YEAHHH.....???!! I have put more than that in a small Starbucks cup that is smaller than their small size. I almost didn't want it. She might not have meant anything by it, but that was exceptionally annoying and too much.

Other than that, I really loved the short walk from my beach house there. This place is clean, and they have great options of food, beverages (alcoholic to non-alcoholic), and souvenirs. Their bagels are massive. Their prices are very reasonable. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Service is quick even with a lot of people inside.“

“A friend and I stopped in on Saturday morning to grab a smoothie bowl before heading to the beach. We had never been before, although I have lived here for three years! This place is messed definitely a gem. I got the peanut butter bowl with whey protein instead of the plant-based protein. It was like a Reese’s cup for breakfast. It’s a cute little shack, really friendly staff, and perfect location! Needless to say, I will be heading back!“

Parking: Right outside of the cafe is a beat up parking lot your able to park basically wherever you find a free space don’t be scared if all the spots are taken to check out near the right of the cafe if there’s any empty spaces available“

“Very cute atmosphere and the staff were very kind and personable. The bacon egg and cheese on English muffin I got tasted delicious, and even when they were temporarily slammed with customers, food and drinks came out in a very timely manner. Only thing stopping it from being a 5 star is I wasn't too keen on the coffee flavor itself(I got hot mochaccino), due to personal preference. Hoping to try out their hot chocolate next time around!“

He recommended the lemon ricotta pancakes, I was skeptical but thought I would step out of my comfort zone and MAN WERE THEY GOOD! If I’m ever in the area I know where I’m eating for brunch! “I really enjoy the people and the overall atmosphere here. Came to Grinders quite often when I first moved back to Wilmington. However, Grinders has always been on the high end for prices. Just got my first Dirty Chai over 8 dollars in Wilmington! I didn’t mind that it was made iced instead of hot as I requested but the prices are pretty ridiculous for the area. Go to Bespoke or Casablanca, get the same ambience and mucchhh more affordable coffee in my opinion!“

“I don't normally leave reviews but I absolutely LOVE Port City Java! The team at Portersneck is so kind and even takes the time to get to know you. Every time I go there, I don't feel like a stranger. The coffee and food is delicious and fairly priced. The wait is typically a couple minutes but may be longer depending on the time of day. But that's only because they make everybody's order with so much care, even under rush hour pressure. Best local coffee shop in town!“

“The cafe is part of the art museum and what a treat it was for our visit. There was a large party of lovely ladies speaking French, a smattering of children visiting with their mothers, and a few other visitors such as ourselves enjoying the lovely fall Wilmington weather and the lunch fare available. You really must go if you are in the Wilmington area. It is a wonderful experience for young and old alike.“
