Entered the bar at about 830 waited 15 min before bartender even asked me if I wanted anything then went upstairs to be in a slightly less loud place and was booted from there because they said it wasn't open to sit there by a rude security guy no one els cared I sat there and chilled so I left. ?

Very nice music, they don't have a pool table anymore but really nice atmosphere, amazing bartender and drinks are good.

I felt super uncomfortable and unsafe here. I've tried this place 3 different times and it's all the same outcome. Staff is incredibly rude and uncaring, the place is so packed you can hardly breathe, and the people surrounding my husband and I were ill-mannered. I was even groped at one point. Maybe it has some good nights but overall I personally would not suggest going here, for safety purposes.

Horrible, we were waiting in line for 90 minutes at -15°C, many people left because they couldn't stand it, the guards inside were drinking coffee and making fun of us. We had to do the New Year's count on the street because we couldn't get in, the place wasn't so full as to not let people pass. And at the exit the guards were very racist, it is evident that I am Mexican and they said mockingly and in a sarcastic tone: "Tequila, tequila"

They do last call at 1:30am and let everyone order a drink only to aggressively kick you out at 1:35. They were shouting and herding us like cattle to the front door, not a great end to an otherwise fun night. Also they should have gender neutral bathrooms at a gay club, PERIOD.

Getting racist vibes from this place now. Used to be a great place to come and dance on a Saturday night the DJ tonight lied and claimed "Omaha" put a ban on hip hop music in clubs. So he can play his music no one can dance to. If he didn't want to play music to dance to he could have just said that. To say they don't want to play hip hop music to avoid "attracting a certain type" doesn't seem very inclusive for a gay nightclub.

Broken glass in peoples drinks. Patrons are the worst type of gays. Your money is better spent at Tavern, Flixx, or Omaha Mining Company.

Absolute garbage. There was no one, when my group showed up. And as soon as we start having a good time they kick us out. We had no problems at all. We danced like there was no tomorrow and then they decide it was time for us to go even though we paid the entrance fee and paid for all of our drinks. If you plan on having a good time do not go to the max. They will not let you in past 10:00pm and they will kick you out if you are having to much fun also parking was horrible and we will not be going to the Max ever again.

Overpriced, discriminative, not handicapped accessible, unfriendly, unprofessional, CASH ONLY. Overall very disappointing and distasteful. If you would love to have an awful night then The Max is the club for you.I’ve been to this bar a few times despite them having a bad reputation because I had never had a bad experience myself. Until last night. My bestfriend is in town from Oregon and was expecting to have a fun night. We were with a group of 9 other women and one disabled gay man. While we were walking up the the door (12:55 am) their seemingly emasculated security told us they close the doors at 1:00 am and then continued to count down from 20 seconds. After rushing our disabled friend to the doors they then told us that they turn their lights on in 20 minutes and it would be $10/person. While we were between the two sets of door they also took the queue line markers inside (bc they close the doors at 1 right). Our group discussed we didn’t think it would be worth our time or money for 20 minutes and their staff rudely said “where else are you going to go?” and “Throwback’s cover is $20 tonight”. So we decided we would rather go there. Upon us leaving we stopped a few people we knew and told them about the situation to which an actual police officer walked over to us and told us we had to leave. We were literally walking away and they continued to follow us. They also told the 3 men we stopped that they would let them in. The time then was 1:04. Why are you letting people in 4 minutes after you have “closed” your doors? Very weird. Being the smart and sexy people that we are we continued on to Throwback where we were met by a very nice bouncer who kindly told us they not only had no cover but that they’ve never had a $20 cover.Very unprofessional of your staff to not only be rude to a queer disabled person but to also lie and scam your customers. “LGBTQ friendly” but certainly not. Not women friendly. Not queer friendly. Not trans friendly. Really such a shame. Also what’s up with the bald 60+ year old men in underwear two sizes too small for them? Is that a hiring requirement? Must be bald, wear too small underwear and qualify for social security. No wonder drinks take so long to make when the staff can’t move too fast for fear of throwing a hip out. Bouncers included. Bouncer requirements: no one over height of 5’5”, bald, 55+ and must have a piece of food in teeth at all times for dominance.

Unsafe bar, hostile staff, not queer friendly for a "gay bar" besides week nights, not physically disabled persons friendly. I've been supporting this business for years, not only weekends, but weekdays and several events. After coming back from moving out of state, im sad to say I'm disappointed with how things are being ran, especially at the door. Our group was dressed nicely, not drunk, not loud, and we were excited to go in to a queer friendly space... we literally talked about it for weeks and even rented a place to stay... i was excited to be with my friends again. To start; the bouncer gave our group, who was walking with a physically disabled queer person on crutches, 20 seconds to check in when there was literally no line outside. This man actually started counting down like a kindergarten teacher would with students. It was 12:56, they told us they close the doors at 1 now. Then told us the bar closed in 20 minutes for drinks but we're still asking for an unexpectedly high cover. Which was concerning for no line or wait time to get in on a Saturday night. Although I'd pay a cover double that price if we were greeted with any respect. Although after we verbalized we didn't like how they were talking to us they started mocking us with statements like "where else are you going to go?" And started talking very poorly on other bars within the downtown area. We felt very bullied and confused. Manipulated even? What happened to community? I thought this was a safe place for queers. Im not exactly sure why the "security" is so aggressive here. If you hate your job that bad, then please find another one. I'm really concerned if those guys have partners or kids at home they take their problems out in like that. They did not make us feel safe at all. Bullied actually. This gay bar unfortunately hired a group of toxic masculinity bully's, especially the short man who's balding, he was unnecessarily aggressive. And he had food in his teeth while he was having his little temper tantrum, talking shit on other bars. Maybe look into some of your staff. I've heard great things about cbd, I hope their okay. Peace and love.

I felt like I was in this fantasy world it was amazing! Con is BRING CASH! It is a cash only place. They do have a ATM but didn't take our card so couldn't get drinks. But the energy was great!

For a gay club, no, for any club in general, the music is horrible. If you want to listen to party rock anthem 20+ times in one night, you’ll have a fun time.
