“Picture this: New Year’s Day. I’m surrounded by hungover individuals at my friend’s house (I was the DD all night). I must brave the cold walk to my car if I want to take a shower. As I am driving down the road, I see the sparkling oasis of THE Amherst Dunkin' Donuts. I am greeted at the microphone with arguably the best experience I have EVER had:

Now- I’ve been told to wait before. I’ve worked in customer service, so I get it. But this guy knows show business. He had that sparkle, that passion for customer service you only see once in a blue moon.

We are off to a fantastic start. I order a refresher and an old fashioned donut. Side note, my refresher is PERFECT. I am aware my donut choice is not for everyone, but this guy knew how to commit to the bit,

“ AH! A donut from the 1800’s for you.”

Listen, I’m already cracking up. I can barely hold it together. I drive up to the window, expecting to meet some sort of riddle master who wants to bargain for my first born. Get this guy a freaking award! In fact, make him audition for SNL.

I am greeted with the sweetest man who takes my card and gives me my food. It was not the same guy who took my order, as he was a bit more subdued in nature, but it is clear this crew works seamlessly together. I am pleased as punch to start the new year off so whimsically!

“A few things. 1. They make extraordinarily good baked goods, just really fantastic. Incredibly thoughtful service, and a welcoming environment. 2. Really wonderful people. I like them a lot and it’s so clear that they care and that they are present and focused each day. 3. If you dislike them solely based on what you think their politics are…. you’re the problem. Get over yourself and accept that it takes a lot of different ideas to keep this world moving.“

“I love this place. Staff is super nice and everyone seems happy to be there. Best matcha I’ve had around here and the bagels are amazing also. Bacon w/ bacon scallion spread on cheddar garlic…might just be my favorite bagel that isn’t a traditional Jersey style.

Their loose leaf tea is high quality and their pastry selection is to die for even though I dropped a $4 cronout yesterday because of the box it was in didn’t hold closed 😥…haven’t tried their coffee but I’ve heard good things. Just not a big coffee person.

Can’t go wrong here though. In fact I think I’m gonna head there now!

“We discovered this amazing coffee on a trip to New England earlier this year and it’s become our absolute favorite. We have tried dozens of flavors now and each one is smooth and uniquely flavorful. Our favorites so far are maple bacon, Jamaican me crazy, egg nog, hot toddy, silver & gold, and peppermint stick, although I’m sure we’ll find many more favorites the more we try! We’d love additional recommendations cause there’s just so many to choose from we don’t want to miss the best ones!!! Let’s talk about the vibes: peaceful indie playlist, comfy chairs, and the scent of toasted ambition wafting through the air. Disgusting. I come here to suffer in peace, NOT accidentally heal.

And DON’T get me started on the drinks. I ordered something I couldn’t pronounce — it tasted like cinnamon, nostalgia, and bad decisions I didn’t regret. My wallet cried, but my soul said thank you.

Also: who told them to be so nice? I’m trying to be moody and mysterious, and they’re over here remembering my name and how I like my oat milk frothed “just a little on the hotter side”

Honestly, zero stars for making me feel seen and caffeinated.

So my card didn't have enough to cover my order, and my car was having mechanical problems in the parking lot.. rough day to say the least..? and the staff brought my order out to me in the parking lot anyways. “Inside Market Basket grocery store is a nice cafe with an open 50 chair seating area (high & low chairs) with 2 TVs and restrooms. You can hear the registers and customers chatting. Not a typical cafe atmosphere.the selection of tea and specialty coffee drinks is nice. “The early morning weekday duo of Karen and Bev is nothing short of a very well-ouled (and plesant!) machine! They work steadily and quietly until a customer arrives and on a or both of them greets them often by name (and knowing their order!) Simultaneously, on line orders are being sent non-stop and they're filling those too! Steadily, orderly calmly. At about 7:00, Taylor and Justin arrive, take their places in the "dance" and things continue in the same steady, orderly and very pleasant manner.
