“Local NH-ites eat here, so if you want a great Greek style meal, this is the place near downtown Concord. The lamb gyro was one of the best I've had. The chicken souvlaki, and the stuffed cabbage also got thumbs up from my dinner guests.“

“Highly recommended!Amazing food! The chips and salsa are absolutely the best. Perfectly mixed cocktails. Every server I have ever had has been awesome. One of my favorite restaurants. This particular Margaritas Restaurant use to be a jail. They converted the old jail cells into very nice and comfortable private dining. I researched it online after being seated in one of the jail cells and thought how authentic it looked. That's because it was the Concord Police Headquarters and Jail from 1890 to 1975. It housed prisoners and apparently there is also a ghost named "George" that reportedly haunts this place. I didn't have any paranormal experience myself, lol, but the cells are awesome to dine in.Also during the summer; especially in the evening, the out door dining area is absolutely beautiful. It is perfectly lit with soft white pendant/hanging light bulbs next to a gorgeous water fountain. So you have the option between choosing to dine in the cozy private cells or the romantically lit, beautiful out door setting. It is obvious that the owners and employees really care about this restaurant and put a lot of effort into making it a unforgettable experience. They have gone above and beyond for their customers. I strongly recommend dining here.“

Penuche's Ale House Bar • $

“A little hard to find- apparently you're not supposed to drive down the actual street it's on. Whoops. A tiny basement bar with a wide selection of taps and a set up for live music. I was there for Moon Boot Lover, and when some of us demanded higher vocals, they accommodated us. Good sound system. Bar staff was friendly and it was great to visit a small town bar and be treated like New England does and should treat you. Thanks for the "Boot to the head"!“

“Service was friendly and the food was delicious. Went with my family for dinner and dessert afterwards. We got coconut shrimp and chicken wings for appetizers, the shrimp was tasty and the wings had a nice sweet and spicy taste. For the main course I ordered a burger medium-rare, which was very juicy (though could've used a bit more seasoning) and for desert I ordered the "Sinful Seven" chocolate cake, which was delicious. Overall we all finished satisfied and left after about two hours feeling like our stomachs would explode. The only downside was that it was a bit costly, but I guess ordering a three-course meal for four people is always going to be expensive.“

Granite Burger

“I make no claim to be a restaurant Critic, but Joyce & I are "Recreational Eaters" and go out to restaurants a lot. This year we went to the Granite Room at the Centennial Hotel in Concord, NH for Valentine's Day - and it was the right choice. I had the Scallops that were listed on the menu simply as a "Chef Feature" preparation. It was the best meal that I can remember since Corey Fletcher was the Chef at the Colby Hill Inn in Henniker 10 (or more) years ago. And that's saying a lot. Corey now owns and operates the Revival Kitchen in Concord and we have gone there regularly for many wonderful meals, but this meal at the Granite Room really was a standout. A mélange of Root Vegetables was toped with a row of 6 Scallops. The balance of proportions between the vegetables and the Scallops was just right and the mixture of flavors was unique with each component part contributing equally to the total enjoyment. The only reason I put the Total Experience and Ambiance at 4 stars instead of 5 is the noise level. Although not nearly as bad as many other restaurants, the Granite room does suffer from the standard problem of having too many acoustically "hard" surfaces and too few "absorbing" surfaces. Still, better than most. We will be back.“

“This is not a tapas restaurant. It’s a restaurant with a small menu, with a lot of appetizers and a few entrees, but if you’re looking for a tapas place in the traditional sense, this isn’t it.With that said, their small appetizer menu is pretty good. Four of us came in a Saturday night and got right in without a reservation. The decor is sort of “fancy rustic”. You seat yourself, so if you go, don’t stand at the stairs awkwardly waiting for someone to come like we did.We ordered a couple of martinis, and some of their appetizers. We tried the steak lettuce wraps, the spinach and feta empanadas, the bruschetta, Mac and cheese and a few more. Everything was really good, but the standouts for me were the bruschetta, the lettuce wraps and the French spring rolls. The Mac and cheese needed a sauce, and the fiesta dip needed a better proportion of chips to dip.Service was really good. I tried the blueberry lemonade and the lemon rosemary martinis. The blueberry martini did not have any muddled blueberries and was a little too sweet for me, but the rosemary martini was perfect. When all is said and done, I would definitely return.Kid-friendliness: This is not a place for childrenWheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible“
