The Zulu Hut

The South African food is simply amazing. The taste and smells of the food is AMAZING. The owners are very sweet and helpful when making the choice for dinner. The hot and spicy shrimp is probably the best tasting food we have had in a long time. I am sure that The Zulu Hut will be an icon in Portsmouth.

This is my 3rd time back to the Zulu Hut in Portsmouth NH. The HOT spicy shrimp is AMAZING. The meatballs has a very unique flavor that is really very good. The South African curry chicken was incredible. The portions are just right for two people. The wine from South Africa was decent and priced well. Not too $$. Very tasty! Came here for a date/my birthday, we shared the beef bobotie and a side of pap! The meat in the bobotie was tender and very well seasoned, the egg custard on top was thinner than I expected but no less tasty! The pap was meh, if you're a fan of grits (which I am not) though I think you'd enjoy it. Overall, a very unique and delicious new restaurant in Portsmouth! Also, the view of the Piscataqua from the restaurant is killer.
