Let's talk about that liquid gold. I ordered a hot latte with whole milk, finished off with a quick dusting of cinnamon over the foam. One sip and I was hooked, we’re talking a rich, velvety microfoam floating over espresso so balanced it could walk a tightrope. Naturally, because I never meet a light roast I don't like, I got a cup of their Guatemalan El Panal to go. Bright, clean, and really smooth. It’s proof these folks know exactly what they’re doing with a coffee bean. (I hope to get there some day in my micro roaster at home. lol).

Now, I didn't initially plan on grabbing a bite, but the pastry case is a complete trap. While those peanut butter and jelly bars almost lured me in, I ended up pairing my latte with a fresh cranberry scone.

It was a match made in coffee heaven. Flaky, tender, delightfully buttery, and studded with cranberries, it’s the exact kind of pastry that turns a quick coffee run into a full-blown Sit back and relax) lingering experience.

The real showstopper inside, though, is the giant Diedrich roaster sitting right out on the floor alongside literal pallets of green coffee beans. You see Booskerdoo beans popping up at spots all over the Jersey Shore, so seeing the actual industrial engine where the magic happens is really cool. My only minor tragedy of the day? The roaster wasn't firing while I was there. I would’ve loved to hear that machine humming and soak in the full aroma of fresh-roasting beans, but hey, that just gives me an excuse to come back tomorrow.“

“We were invited to the friends and family breakfast the day before opening. We were all absolutely floored by this place and have already made a new tradition to come every sunday! The wait staff and INCREDIBLE, they are so sweet and so speedy! They were so considerate, turned the fire place off for us, and talked with our kids. Don’t be fooled by new comer coffee shops in Asbury Park. If you want good fresh roasted coffee, look no further. Take the walk to 2nd Ave. The folks working are always kind and there is comfy seating if you want I stay. The iced coffee is god tier, probably the best I’ve ever had. Rich and flavorful but no bitterness. I’ve been coming here for years and have started bringing the beans home for when I’m not in town. I’ve ordered also from their website and deliver was fast and easy. Now when I have visitors at my home they remark at how good my coffee is, the best they say. I say yes, yes it is.“

“Just fabulous. I heard of Rook coffee frankly from Alix Earle on TikTok. Anyways I was in red bank and saw a sign and thought that might be that place she kept talking about.

I didn’t have high expectations or anything but I was curious. And it is fabuloussssss - the New Orleans cold brew! I had New Orleans cold brew in New Orleans and always try it black first. When I did it had a very licorice bitter taste. Rook advertised theirs as dark chocolatey and that is what it truly was. I could drink it black but then I added oat milk and it is divine. Love love love! Thank you Rook! Come to NYC 😘“

“Welcome to the screamingest place on earth! To the immense credit of Grandma’s Cheese, the food dramatically improved from when they first opened. Food is amazing!! If you can get past the screaming out of control children and the loud talking adults, then you will love this place.
