Incident at Johnny Mac’s House of Spirits
On July 6, 2024, at approximately 2:19 AM, Officer J. Walsh was stationed at an outside employment detail at Johnny Mac’s House of Spirits on 208 Main Street, Asbury Park, NJ. His assignment included addressing disorderly conduct and noise complaints in the area.
The incident began when Officer Walsh noticed an intoxicated female being assisted by friends at the corner of Cookman Avenue and Main Street. The group repeatedly refused first aid, stating the female was waiting for her mother. Shortly after, Officer Walsh observed Adriana Peruso, a white female dressed in all white, take a photo of the intoxicated woman while she was vomiting. He confronted Peruso, instructing her to delete the photo, but she denied taking it and grew agitated.
As bystanders began yelling at Peruso for her actions, she attempted to leave but then returned and kicked Alfonso Salemi in the hip. Officer Walsh immediately intervened, attempting to arrest Peruso for disorderly conduct (2C:33-2). Peruso resisted, pulling away and causing both herself and the officer to fall to the ground. Despite repeated commands, she refused to comply until finally being handcuffed.
During the struggle, Louise DiIulio, Peruso’s friend, jumped on Officer Walsh’s back to interfere. Officer Walsh pushed her off, and another officer, PO Breiner #244, placed DiIulio under arrest for obstructing justice (2C:29-1). Both women were transported to police headquarters without further incident.
Salemi, the man who was kicked, declined to press charges or seek medical attention and left the scene in an Uber.
Charges & Outcome:
Adriana Peruso: Charged with disorderly conduct (2C:33-2) and resisting arrest (2C:29-2), released on summons 1303-S-2024-000839.
Louise DiIulio: Charged with obstruction (2C:29-1), released on summons 1303-S-2024-000838.
The body-worn camera footage confirmed the events, and no use-of-force report was filed, as Peruso’s fall resulted from her own actions.

Very cool vibe, and free pizza with a drink? Who doesn't like that!? My outside bartender was very accommodating and friendly as well. If you're in AP, check it out, you won't be disappointed.
This place is absurdly good. I can't even believe it
Absolutely terrible. besides the atmosphere it was terrible. Just tried to get my card back and security started pushing and shoving. Idk where the power trip starts but pushing for no reason is ground for assault. This place needs to learn how to hire good security. Do better.

Overall an amazing bar and environment. Super chill laid back bar with lots of beer, hard liquor, and mixed drinks options. But best of all is the free pizza with every drink purchase. So essentially after you purchase a drink such as a beer you get a red ticket and bring it to the pizza line where you get a freshly made personal pie. The absolute best spot and a must go when in Asbury Park. Best time of year and day to stop in is around Halloween when they decorate the place further than it already is. Also come during Zombie walk the zombies walk down Cookman Ave and end there and you get to drink with zombies it's awesome.

Beer and pizza rip. Playlist has gone to total garbage. Would rather pay for food than listen to pop/radio country music.
The past few years I've managed to finish the zombie walk early enough to grab a drink here. It's so much fun! Highly recommend stopping in!
