Im Salvadorian and moved to Bayonne from Queens NY where there’s nothing but amazing Hispanic food! This restaurant is one of the only ones in Bayonne that makes me feel like home. The pupusas are so good ! I was here a few days ago and I’d gladly come again and again. They are made to order so you do have to wait a bit but if you’re in a rush they have a great selection for their hot bar food which is also great my husband loves their sopa de res !
I’ve had the pupusas many times from here, and I’ve never had any issues with the food. Everything is always tasty. However, as for the service, it’s not the best and almost every time I try to call to make an order they NEVER pick up the phone. It has happened multiple times already, and when I show up to the store they’re not even busy. Whoever is in charge needs to look into this.
We were a group of 10 folks staying at the DoubleTree Newark Airport and found El Aguila Dorada via TripAdvisor when looking for a restaurant close to the hotel. The drinks were excellent - specialty cocktail menu and full bar - food was delicious, enormous portions, and lots of vegetarian options in a large menu. Highly recommended for a large group and informal corporate dinners.
