“The best General Tso's chicken in Ocean County. Lightly breaded and a little sweet, not spicy but they can make it spicy if you want. I get all white meat and I've tried every place in Bayville and New Great Wall is definitely the best.
Great portion on the combination platter. Fiance gets shrimp with mixed veggies and says it's also the best she has tried in Bayville. They do not deliver but it's worth the drive. They cook very fast, 10 minutes or less usually. Price is great, almost cheaper than buying everything at a store. I also like the low mein, veggies or pork.
I used to order from Hon Yun because I live 2 minutes down the street, but multiple times Hon Yun had hair in the food and they use a massive amount of breading on the Tso's chicken, never going there again. So glad this place was recommended to me.

“The szechuan beef is soo delicous I asked for extra beef and if they could please make it tender and they did ! I asked for extra shrimp in my rice they did as well .... The fried chicken wings are sooo good they dont even need hot sauce or ketchup the wait is always 40 minutes but they get here when they say they will . “Called to place an order for pick up, the young lady was very courteous. Was told 10-15 minutes. Went 25 minutes later and it wasn’t ready yet which wasn’t a big deal as I only waited 3 minutes after that for it to be ready. The restaurant is clean and welcoming and is definitely family run as the kids are there which is nice to see.
The food was good but the chicken wings had were bland and needed some simple seasoning before frying.
The disappointing part was the vegetable egg foo young. It had a funny texture and had some things in it that I couldn’t decipher. All 3 of my family members had the same complaint so it was a bummer.
I would try them again and taste some different things.“

“The boneless spare rib actually tastes like pork. I have never had boneless spare rib from a Chinese food restaurant that actually tasted like pork . This is unheard of. And I'm not complaining. Actually, everything is cooked perfectly. The garlic sauce is the best I've ever tasted also. I tried my daughter's fried wontons and I had to stop myself from eating her meal . “We've been eating Hunan Gardens food since before John and Shirley bought this restaurant from Lisa and Uncle. But boy John and Shirley have shown how committed they are to all of their patrons. They became parents of 2 wonderful children throughout the years. Their daughter Kim, attends Rutgers and still makes time to help mom and dad out. Their son Kevin, is a graduate from HS North in Tom's River. Even during Covid theyveorked hard at staying open and serving the best Chinese food in noot just Tom's River but in my opinion Ocean County. I for one would love for them to be able to reopen sit-down eat in restaurant. John definitely has the best pork fried rice. Nobody makes it like him. “Don't know if there is a new owner, but I have to say I don't agree with the negative reviews here. Obviously, I'm a foodie, and critical at that. I recently ordered beef and broccoli to eat in, which came with a rich brown sauce extra spicy, just the way I ordered it. The owner, Jennifer, was extremely friendly and helpful. The broccoli was cooked just right, crispy, and she made sure to check on me as I ate. The place is one of the cleanest Chinese restaurants I have been to.“
