“Had lunch today at Houlihans. I haven't been here in a while, so I wanted to treat myself by eating at my favorite restaurant.
And my 3 favorite servers now work in the morning: Mackenzie, Brooke & Jenna.
I had the early bird dinner special: chicken parmesan with a salad and dessert for $17.99. it's a good deal because they chicken parmesan by itself is regularly $17.99.

My server Mackenzie was great: polite, attentive, and fast. As are all of the servers here.

“On June 1st we will be living in PP for two years. Last night we discovered a hidden gem! The owner/ chef was extremely pleasant, gracious and talented. Everything was delicious. The Clams appetizer, Caesar salad, lamb chops and limoncello cake were outstanding. The Sesame Ahi Tuna with Zoodles was hands down the best Ahi dish I’ve ever had! Extra bonus for being BYO! Already looking forward to a return visit. Highly recommend!“

“We finally made it into Klein’s and it did not disappoint. We sat outside in the water and enjoyed a delicious meal. The fish was so fresh and the serving sizes were very large. The Ahi bites appetizer was absolutely amazing and the halibut was the not only delicious but quite a large piece of fish. Lastly, the fish tacos were a favorite. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.“

“We had gone to Woodys for years and recently started visiting more frequently. Really enjoy the atmosphere and the food is good. The holiday decor is a whole vibe—the owners and staff really went all out to provide a warm, inviting experience for their customers. We are always greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. I always enjoy the time spent at Woodys, whether with friends or family. The seating options are many as the heated outdoor area is available all year long. “Meighan and her team of Main Street Kitchen were absolutely amazing. She was the caterer for my daughter's wedding in October. It was an outdoor wedding at our home. She came to our house a few times to meet the tent folks. She made suggestions regarding placements for tables, dance floor, lighting ets. We selected Main Street Kitchen after reading reviews from our local town facebook group. Her food was special, thoughtful and most importantly, delicious. We had about 120 people. She came with an hard working staff who was amazing. We used Love Your Flower in Manasquan and Spirit of Alcohol. For music we used DJ Electra and she was just awesome! Thank you Meighan!“

“Our family is staying in Ortley Beach renting a house. Because of the pandemic it is so difficult to find someplace good to eat. We all love Chinese Food and were very disappointed in our choices in the area. We decided to try Dynasty Kitchen on Fisher Blvd. in Tom's River. We were pleasantly surprised to see they will deliver to Ortley Beach. They told us our order can be there in about 45 minutes. Lo and behold our order arrived in the given time but the best surprise was the food is absolutely delicious! We had egg rolls, fried wontons,wonton soup, pork in black bean sauce, pork chop suey, egg foo young, General TSO Chicken, chicken in black bean sauce and chicken and broccoli. Let me tell you, this food is excellent! The egg rolls were ok. That was the only thing we were okay with but nothing out of the ordinary. We had roast pork fried rice and shrimp fried rice. The prices are great too. All that fed a family of 5 adults and one 8 year old. It out cost about $90 dollars. We have tons of left overs too!! Check them out!“

“I was attending a wedding in Lakewood, NJ. There are surprisingly very few hotels nearby there that aren't on the shore. I had in the past stayed at a Ramada in Toms River, but I learned that it had been sold and turned into an office building. For some reason, Lakewood has very few hotels. I had stayed at one of the only other nearby hotels, a Hilton, but it is overpriced. I saw the Days Hotel, and it got good reviews. The bride's grandmother told me a friend had stayed there and had given a good report, so I booked a reservation. The Days Hotel Toms River was a pleasant surprise. It was the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in! No dirt, no signs of bugs. no stains in the bathtub! No cracked tiles or mismatched wallpaper. And I asked for maid service after the first night, and they gave it to me, complete with all fresh towels, bedding, and amenities, made the bed, vacuumed, and cleaned the coffee area, even not waiting until late in the afternoon, as some hotels do. And it looked like the hotel had just been redecorated. Not 1950s dreary with holes in the carpet and broken tiles in the bathroom. Very tasteful with light, simple colors: just the way I like it. The hotel was very quiet, no rowdy guests, and it was set back from the highway, so no road noise, as well. And a big parking lot in front (free) with no driving around and around for a space, even after I returned from the wedding late at night. And it is conveniently located to the main streets leading to Lakewood, which was important to me. Staff was nice, and there were two computers in the lobby with Internet + a printer for guests to use. It's a four-story hotel, and I had a room on the top floor, which I had requested. I had noticed before I left that the room rate (AAA - two double beds) since I made the reservation had gone down. I pointed that out when I checked in, and the agent behind the desk matched that rate. And there was always someone behind the desk, regardless of time of day. And they answered the phone!! There was a restaurant in the hotel that I didn't use, but they were very nice and gave me plastic silverware and disposable dishes so I could eat in my room the special-diet food I had brought. The room also had a large mini-fridge (that functioned well!) So overall I would say it was much better even than staying at the old Ramada. And better than the Hilton. at a much lower price. And 1, 000 times better than an old Best Western I stayed in once, which apparently is also kaput. Only complaint was that one of only two elevators was out of order, and it wasn't fixed the whole time I was there (3 days, 2 nights). But there usually wasn’t a wait for the other elevator.“

The chef personally came out and asked if he could make him some bacon and then also brought him out a huge bone! Such great vibes. 10/10!!“

“This is a hidden Gem and is the best sushi around in Belmar area. Better than Rice and Taka combined... Sunsets here are magic and the band music is EXTRA loud.. brings the kinda crowd we like. “This is a great place to relax and just enjoy either watching sports or playing video games or even some pool or shuffle board. The people working there are awesome they are very nice and pleasant as well as the owners Billy and Dana. The food here is really good, the menu has a nice variety of foods to choose from. If you have never been here you have to come during lunch or dinner. If you wanna enjoy just a night out with music, fun and games make it a night out you won’t be disappointed.“

“We have been here a few times now and always enjoy our meals. This time the salmon was overcooked. The server was very nice and said she would have them make another one . The manager comes over and says that “you know the salmon here isn't sushi quality” to which my husband replied the salmon was very dry . I've never experienced a manager taking that approach to a customer ! Very unprofessional! He was actually rude. We were there on July 6th at 6:00pm and that is when this manager was working. When my husband received his meal it was perfect!!! We really like the food here but the manager definitely left us unsure of returning .“
