And the desserts, wow, hopefully it's your cheat day, between the toppings for the waffles or funnel cakes, ice cream, water ice. And the best part is it's very affordable. Eat inside or outside. Everything was tidy & clean which is something I really look for. Solange is so warm and both her and her staff have amazing customer service. I ordered a medium oxtail plate with rice & peas & plantains and it was the best plate of oxtail l've ever had... homemade or restaurant. The oxtail was falling off the bone and Solange gave me a little gravy pool to mix in with my rice(I didn’t even have to ask for extra gravy 🥹) The portions were healthy and I was able to share. The plantains were sweet and freshly fried. Everything else looked SOOO GOOD especially the roti. I literally cannot say enough good things and I'm not exaggerating. I tried both the homemade pineapple ginger and the passionfruit both were so delicious. The passion fruit was heavenly. Just go. Try everything for me and report back. “Overall the food is tasty. I have had their Chicken Curry, Stewed Chicken, Rice and Peas, String Beans, Mac n Cheese. Definitely more of a "hole in the wall spot." The space is dark, quiet and not particularly welcoming, but you can order food and you can tell they can cook. It is defintiely better than other spots in the city. Id recommend folks get it "To Go." They have Caribbean drinks to buy too.“

“I love Zion's Cuisine. It is a neighborhood gem and I will miss it if/ when I move out. I usually get brown stew chicken, beef stew, or pepper steak. The food is affordable, delicious, and healthy, and a large platter is good for 2-3 big meals (I do use rice from home to stretch it). Zion's is my go-to when I don't have the time or energy to make something decent for myself.No restaurant review is complete without a criticism, so: I wish they made it clear what is available each day. This goes for all Jamaican spots, but it seems like every day there is something they don't have. Knowing what's available with an updated list (instead of an interrogation at the order counter) would also give me the opportunity to try dishes I haven't before, such as their soups and breakfast items.Also, although their cabbage is the best Jamaican cabbage I've ever had, when I get cabbage and greens as sides I wish they would put my greens in the little slot for sides instead of always the cabbage. I end up with enough cabbage for two meals but only one meal worth of greens. Maybe greens are more expensive for them.. I will ask to pay extra for this next time and see what they say.Overall, Zion's is my favorite restaurant in the area and I am already looking forward to the next time I fall woefully behind on my food prep.

“If you’re looking for rich, flavorful Caribbean comfort food with portions that don’t play, Georgiana’s is the spot! I ordered the oxtail platter and the jerk chicken platter, and let me tell you — every single bite was chef’s kiss.

The oxtails were fall-off-the-bone tender, smothered in a thick, savory gravy with just the right hint of spice, resting perfectly on top of fluffy rice and peas. The flavors were deep, hearty, and so satisfying.

The jerk chicken was beautifully charred, juicy on the inside, and coated in a bold, smoky jerk sauce that packed heat and flavor. Paired with creamy, cheesy mac and cheese and perfectly caramelized candied yams, it was a serious plate of happiness.

On top of that, the platters were generous — definitely enough to fill you up and then some. I appreciate a place that gives you your money’s worth without compromising on quality or taste.

“Found this treasure place when I was looking for Dominican/ Mexican food for lunch at work. Really really good slow cook ribs. I really want to know how they seasoned it even there might be some recipes online. When you chewing the chicharrones the juice/fat just come out and it taste really really good.Ribs/ chicharrones(crispy slow cook pork belly), rice and beans, salad, and maduros(sweet fried plantains) for $13.Do not go to Applebees, TGI Fridays, McDonald’s, meals from local tea like this gives you better and healthier choices, and they deserved more customers.Part of ribs and chicharrones(the part doesn’t include much fat) became too hard/too dry to eat after long time cook, some of them are not eatable anymore since it’s too hard. There should be a way to avoid this problem. As I know the Cantonese type Chinese BBQ restaurant has slow cook ribs and crispy pork belly too (with different seasoning of course) , but theirs doesn’t have this problem, and pork belly are perfectly brown. I don’t know how they do it. Maybe cover meat with aluminum paper and be more accurate at the timing and temperature by cooking them not as long as Latin chicharrones(chicharrones taste harder/crispier). If you try pork belly from both restaurants you will know what I meant“

I didn't get platters this time, I ordered everything a la carte, by the pound. We got Pernil, chicharron, tostones, arroz con gandules, stewed beef, guineo, beans, and white rice with extra gravy. Online ordering was also a breeze, the layout was straight forward and very intuitive. It gave you options and even a small section for special requests. They used to be cash only, but have an ATM inside and now accept card payments.Definitely my favorite place in the city. Try the mofongo with roast pork. It's extra garlicky and packed with flavor. The rice and beans are always perfect, and so is their pernil (pork shoulder). The appetizers are also worth checking out.Small place, and it gets crowded quick. Totally a place to visit if you're in the city or curious about Dominican food.

“I dined in for an early dinner and ordered the Brown Stew Chicken w Yams & Collard Greens, Fish Soup, and Watermelon Juice. Everything was very tasty! The yams didn’t have much additional flavor though but I didn’t mind because as a side they just absorbed the sauce from the Brown Stew Chicken and got flavored that way. Also they seem to use pretty fresh produce so all the produce had more of its own natural flavor - yams, collard greens, as well as the cabbage and carrots in the Stew, and the okra in the Fish Soup. The flavors in the Fish Soup seemed unique to me and I really enjoyed it. The soup came with a tasty dumpling in it as well (not sure if there is a different name for this dumpling but I will be doing more research on Caribbean cuisines). I also liked that there were not bones in the soup as I often expect bones when ordering most meats from Caribbean restaurants but I’m not a fan of dealing with them. The Brown Stew Chicken while very tasty and flavorful, does have bones in it. Everything was well seasoned and salty, but not to an offensive extent at all - just perfect and as expected. Last but not least, the Watermelon Juice was a very refreshing addition to the meal that was much appreciated after walking in hot weather. It tasted like fresh fruit and was sweet but not too sweet! It was honestly a real necessity at the time, so I’m glad I found this place. I definitely want to come back and try more of their food.

The service was also great! Everyone working there seemed friendly, which is definitely not always the case, and I felt welcome. Someone (the chef?) came out to personally take orders to speed up the line which wasn’t even long, so they seem committed to getting people their food fast (despite “island time” existing in Caribbean cultures). The menu is simple which allows them to have everything ready quickly & at a high quality. The quality of the food is what matters above all, and it seems they understand that. Also be ready with cash as it is Cash Only.

I love the cozy vibe and the old school diner/lunch counter aesthetics, but I felt like the dining room/bar space should be better utilized. I understand this situation isn’t even necessarily their fault as we are in the era of takeout, and they clearly put their money towards making sure the food is good, which is obviously most important. I also understand they are dealing with the fact that their menu isn’t super conducive for the bar/lunch counter setting, and it’s detached from the kitchen, but it has a purpose - it’s where they make and serve the homemade juices. Something as simple as pictures of the main ingredients in the juices could be a low cost way to liven up this area and serve a practical purpose as well. They have big, comfortable tables which some restaurants in the area don’t even offer anymore, so I appreciated that.“
