“If you’re looking for amazing authentic Puerto Rican food, Freddy’s is the place to get it. While I have been to a few other spots, Freddy’s has the taste of Puerto Rico in every dish I’ve tried. The mofongo, arroz con pollo and lechon asado and you can not leave without a mango smoothie! A must have if you want to know what it tastes like if you could stick a straw directly into a mango and drink from it. The only con I’d mention is the location and parking is limited in the parking lot. Although there is side street parking if necessary“

“I've been getting food here for about 10 yrs +, and always get the stewed chicken & rice or stewed steak & rice.... always so delicious. I tried a couple of other things, but can't remember the name...but was delicious. Their fruity drinks are great too. I haven't been in a few months, so I'm grabbing some today.“

“I took my kids to Philly to eat at this Puerto Rican restaurant. My kids and I were there early for lunch. The food was being prepared. The service by Timothy was excellent. The flavor was delicious. Felt like I was eating at my Abuela’s table. Thank you for the hospitality and for coming out to introduce yourself. We will be back.“

“Great local takeout spot! Highly recommend grabbing lunch here and heading to a nearby park (no seating inside, to go only). They have authentic pastelillos, delicious bowls and sides. My family can’t get enough of the queso fritos.“

“Casa Borinquena catered our wedding last month and it was absolutely wonderful. The food was incredible- authentic, flavorful, and a huge hit with all of our guests. People are still asking me about it. My favorite dishes were the Alcapurria, Maduros and of course the rice.
Chef Lulu and Wenlock were professional, organized, and made everything food-related run smoothly on my wedding day. They are also very budget friendly, which I appreciated. I had no negative issues with them whatsoever.
I highly recommend Casa Borinquena for any special event- you won’t be disappointed. We have also used them for catering for at our church and neighborhood groups.“
