“It was our honor and privilege to be a part of a dear friend's B'day Bash last Sunday at Kochi. Dining at Kochi was one of the, if not THE, most memorable experience ever. We were totally floored by the exquisite food - and service - provided by Chef and Owner Mr. Jebu Matthew and his team. From the cool berry drink and amazing classic South Indian appetizers, to the numerous - and for us, many new - items that kept appearing in front of us almost magically during the main meal, served in the traditional South Indian style (on banana leaves), right through the delectable halwa and delicious jaggery rice payasam (desserts), we could feel the love and careful attention with which each item was prepared and pride with which each item was served. Plus, being served by Mr. Matthew himself was, in and of itself, humbling. He patiently explained the intricacies of each delicacy which helped us understand the complexity of the cuisine's varied flavors. To be actually seated (for hours) and served at the table greatly enhanced the culinary experience. We have rarely, if ever, felt that we have consumed a feast - but now, can proudly say so - because of Mr. Matthew and our experience at Kochi. “This place is excellent. Keep in mind its cash only, with an ATM located inside. My first time there was sort of forced, when i was younger i was not open to different food like this. Now i find myself at this establishment multiple times a month. This time i had the saint patty day special. Corned beef with cabbage, and potato soup. Very good. Also tried the brat salad (i think it was called) which is german bologna with tomatos, onions, and maybe cucumber. It was extremely good. The kartoffelpuffers (potato pancakes) are amazing, the spatzel (fried german noodles) are my favorite. And the beef stew is like no other. Ive never had anything bad off this menu. The desserts are great as well.“

“We wanted to try a new place and came across this restaurant, and honestly, it turned out to be one of the best we've ever been to. Everything was just perfect from start to finish. The host was super welcoming and seated us at a really cozy spot. Our server was great, really friendly and knew the menu inside out, which helped since we were asking a lot of questions. The food came out fresh, hot, and beautifully presented. We had the fish special and the filet mignon for our entrées both were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. After dinner, we moved to the bar for a couple of after-dinner cocktails, and they were honestly some of the best we've had. The rolls these sandwiches were served were fantastic 😋 The sammies were NOT "packed" with fillings like a cheesesteak joint. Nicely presented with homemade potato chips. Quality of ingredients is huge because I can't eat a lot. The red wine vinegar and olive oil was top notch. I use red wine vinegar almost daily 😋 I would definitely go back for the same meal, about 1hr from my home and worth the trip 😋“

“I cannot say enough great things about Chef’s Rotisserie! The beef patties are our absolute favorite menu item but everything we have tried is great! Today, they forgot two of our beef patties that I paid for so I called them and they rectified the situation by personally delivering them to our home which is over 25 minutes away from them. Pardon me for bringing this to light: - I visited the BAPS SWAMINARAYAN Akshardham and was dismayed at seeing a couple taking pictures kissing in front of the Akshardham. I get that this mandir is open to the public and has become a tourist attraction because of its magnificence. But at the end of the day, it is still a Hindu Temple and a sacred place where Hindus worship and in this case the house of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Some people are visiting for their tic-toc, Facebook and Instagram viral moment; as you’d be amazed at the poses you see people striking for pictures, but they should be RESPECTFUL OF HINDU CULTURAL NORMS! When visiting any Basilica in Europe - Clothing should generally cover the shoulders, chest, midriff, and knees. The dress code is similar here. People don’t have to wear traditional Hindu Attire but PLEASE, the public should dress modestly to show respect for ancient cultural traditions and norms! Wearing leggings is not dressing modestly. No one wants to see women’s bootie at a mandir! And kissing on the lips at a Mandir is the equivalent to tourists etching their names onto the walls of Rome’s Colosseum. “My wife and I are on the #eatjersey challenge to visit and have a meal in all 564 towns of NJ. We chose Tavern on the Lake for Hightstown, our 150th town.

Great eats and comfort food in a place that is at the center of the town. They have a fantastic beer selection on draft that rotates over time. For the fall season, we had a Hot Toddy and Spiked Cider. The French dip sandwich and crab cakes were great.

When there's warmer weather, they have a great outdoor patio too!“

“Thank you for hosting an amazing After Pass for my family and friends! The tables were set up beautifully as we arrived. The food came out in courses, hot and fresh. We are traditional Italian cooks by heritage, and we could not get over the incredible meatballs! They made the chicken piccata with just the right amount of lemon and capers. The last course was an assortment of Italian mini desserts that were scooped up in a matter of minutes!! The only complaint we had was the chef would not part with the meatball recipe.
