“I am not a big taco fan but these tacos were sooo good. They put an avocado sauce on top that tastes fantastic. And they are prices are pretty average for most taco spots. I had the quesabirria tacos- delicious!! It’s so great to finally have an authentic and tasty taco spot in Garfield. And the staff was so sweet and friendly. They gave my friend and I rose for Valentine’s Day. I will definitely be back!! 🥰“

“happy hour! The food was excellent — you can tell it’s made by someone with authentic Spanish roots. Plenty of parking and the drinks were solid. The guacamole was a bit too salty for our taste, but overall we enjoyed it. For a family of four to eat enough during happy hour, expect to spend around $120, which was the only downside for us. “Our first time going to the Totowa location (met up with friends for lunch). Staff was very friendly and helpful - we decided to eat outside and they brought the food to us quickly. We had the tacos, regular bowl with carnitas and fajita bowl with steak and pina-mango drink. Food was very tasty and freshly made. Will come back to try El Pastor. Definitely recommend Sombrero Tacoria.“

Friendly greeting when we walked in, quick table service and the food is fresh and very flavorful! We each had Quesadilla's de Carne Asada (Steak) - and the serving sizes were big, we each only ate half and too the rest home.

“Authentic, delicious Mexican food. We came for lunch and both had tacos which were incredible. Felt like I was in Mexico City. Very good in house chips and salsa verde. Their hot sauce is incredible too. Our waitress was super friendly and put up with my very poor Spanish lol. I will definitely be back.“

“I live in the area and love trying out local restaurants, Taquerua La Casita did not disappoint. The atmosphere was great, wel lit and busy. Its a small place, but small places tend to be masters of their craft. I got two orders of tacos, tacos al pastor and tacos de costilla (recommended by the employee working he counter). Both were great, fresh and bold flavors. The pastor came with a slice of pineapple on top which was a nice touch. I really enjoyed the Verde sauce that came with the order. “Great authentic Mexican restaurant. My favorite is the shrimp à la Mexicans with rice and refried beans. Shrimp are usually a nice size and seem to be fresh. Love that the sauce is freshly made. My family usually orders the chicken quesadilla, shrimp or pork burrito, tamales de carnitas just to list a few. This is truly a weekly go to spot for us.“

I congratulated her on the success of her business. Her husband and her opened this restaurant, and the one on 412 Broadway after many years of working at Hendricksons as a cook. The menus are in both English and Spanish and have descriptions if you are not familiar with Mexican food. I love this place and you really can’t beat the prices.
