I’ve found this place to follow no regular taste standard in terms on their coffee. Each time I’ve been here the Barista is different and so is the coffee taste. It’s quite annoying to spend $5 seeking for a decent cup of coffee.
Babkas, chocolate croissants, madeleines, oat milk lattes, hot teas... one of my favorite Hoboken bakeries when my sweet tooth kicks in. They have a nice selection of pastries all baked fresh (you can catch them late at night prepping while the rest of Hoboken is still hopping between bars). Some of my favorites are the chocolate babkas & almond croissant, but I switch it up from something super sweet to super simple depending on my mood. I frequent Choc Pain at least 2 times per week. Service and food are good with the exception of today. I ordered a sandwich and coffee. The coffee was luke warm, not hot and tasted like mud. It was the worst coffee i ever tasted. Not sure what happened as usually the coffee is
