“Incredible coffee. Pour over is super smooth and best I've ever had. Staff experienced with all things coffee and use specific equipment and timers to make sure the coffee comes out with the best flavor. Not usually one for the finesse of coffee making but the outcome will definitely have me coming back again.“
“The Grind Shop is your place for serving up excellent brews, mixtures of brews as well as your own choice of coffee just as you like it; we can't forget about the fresh pastries, too. Although space is slightly limited, The Grind Shop is worth your visit every single time. If you're able to grab a seat, you'll have plenty of space to enjoy sipping on your coffee while working on your latest project on your laptop.Parking: This is a pedestrian affair, if you're driving to The Grind Shop, a pick up and go is fine, otherwise, just be patient when looking for parking in and around the area. But if you're commuting or walking, go relaxed and enjoy your visit.“
“Ko Cafe is an absolute gem in our neighborhood! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warmth and the enticing aroma of freshly brewed coffee. As a black-owned establishment, it's wonderful to see Isreal and his team infuse such vibrancy into our community. The ambiance is cozy and the coffee is top-notch. Highly recommend supporting this fantastic cafe!“
“I live in the area and attend college out of town so getting to the library on my off days is tough. I've been looking for a place with a chill ambiance, wifi, good tea, and coffee. Well, look no more for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Great rustic look, comfy seating with back support, loads of outlets for laptops, and the second-floor space are super cute and cozy too. Oh and there's a small little outside area that's pretty cool as well. Shaquille (hope I spelled it right) was AMAZING! So down-to-earth, friendly, polite, and easy to talk to. She made me the Tumeric latte for me and I all but licked the cup clean. I had the hummus & cucumber on sourdough toast and it was divine. Also, a great option for vegans. I totally recommend this place if you have similar needs or just want to hang out with some friends. I will surely be going back.“
“This is probably my fav wfh spot in Jersey City. It is so clean, spacious, and pretty quiet! There are two floors and just lots of seating overall. The coffee is pretty yummy and not as pricey as I thought it would be. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come back!“
“Outstanding service! One of the most knowledgeable barbers I have met! Before he did anything, he stopped and explained why! THIS IS NOT A CHOP SHOP! These guys care about service first! I recommend him to everyone! Even if you have to drive or travel to get here. It is worth it!“
“I love it here. They space is very inviting. Colorful art, cozy pillows and an open layout with warm lighting make it a nice, relaxing space to people watch or work remotely. The owners have also created a space for the youngest customers where they can feel most comfortable. The staff is very kind.“
“I've been looking for a place that serves proper coffee ever since I arrived her in JC. And I must say, Treehouse Coffee Shop delivered. Their coffee is superb. I always get their Oat Latte, and compared to the other shops, where all you taste is the oat milk, their version doesn't.“
“Came here with my family and this was such a cute and tidy cafe. This cafe had a very homey feel to it and the workers were so welcoming. We had the BLT toast, curried chicken toast, empanadas (argentine beef, chicken chipotle and ham&cheese), drinks and ice cream. Everything was delicious but the curried chicken toast and argentine beef empanada were the highlight of our meal. We will definitely be coming back to try the other items on the menu!“
“This is an excellent smoothie and acai bowl place, with a very fitting name! All of the fruit was fresh and smoothies are made to order. I was able to customize a smoothie with almond milk, spinach, banana, Nutella, blueberries, and avocado. It was actually surprisingly good and hit just the spot. So glad to have found this healthy juice/smoothie place in Jersey City!“
“Great coffee! I wish they would rearrange the furniture shop so it's fully in the back and doesn't spill into the main shop. It would be have cozier seating in that location instead of furniture for sale. Nonetheless, that should not dissuade you from coming.“
“Semicolon Cafe is a great place to visit for a quick meal and sweet drink. The sandwich I got was very light and refreshing. I also really enjoyed my drink, which was a specialty strawberry matcha that came with popcorn on top. They also gave me an edible straw, which was strawberry flavored and actually not bad! Overall the vibes of the cafe are also very nice. The upstairs was closed when I visited so there wasn't a ton of space, however, I really like how open it is and how much natural light it gets.“
“This is a nice quaint neighborhood gem to grab some early or midday small meal,That me and my partner have fallen in loved with. We came here to try it out one day and have not been disappointed every time we have stopped by. The prices can add up for breakfast and drinks but worth stopping by. The service is always friendly and many people stop by to enjoy or to go. There is some seating inside and they provide outdoor seating as well. We love the dulce de Leche and I liked the Arnold Palmer so far and we finally tried a breakfast sanwhich and it was very fulfilling. Me and my partner definitely recommend!“
“First time tried their Jc place inside of Dvora. I like the decor and ambiance so much! Overall it feels so relaxing and cozy. You got many options in terms of drinks plus their bakery goods. We had maple oat latte and pumpkin spice cake, which were amazing! Def will come back to try other ones!“
“I loved the casual atmosphere and friendly service. On recommendation from the staff I ordered the Chicken Little and it was delicious. Ten out of ten recommend it.Wheelchair accessibility: There is an outside seating area where customers with mobility issues can sit but this is only feasible under good weather.“
“Alfalfa knows exactly who they are as a brand. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They offer a variety of options that are customizable to your needs and wants. Highly recommended. The see more option under dishes needs to be fixed on googles review site FYI it causes the app to force quit when you select it.“
“I stopped in to Box Cafe for a quick bite to eat in between meetings and was floored by everything. The food was delicious and extremely fresh and the place is just so chill and inviting. the owners are amazing too. Looking forward trying it for dinner with BYOB.“
“The broccoli and feta flambee was delicious! Great flavor, creamy from the feta, and a crunchy/flaky crust. The overall ordering and waiting for food was longer than it should be, but perhaps not unexpected for a recently opened cafe. Hoping they'll keep improving!“
“Cannot say more positive things about Cafe Lafayette! We got the spicy chicken sandwich and chicken & waffles — both were full of flavor and all the right crunchy textures. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the hospitality is top notch. We showed up with our toddler and dog (not a service animal), and the staff were SO KIND AND HELPFUL in offering and then setting up a table for us to eat outside, even though no other tables were outside. The cherry on top was that they brought out a pup cup for our old and blind pit bull, which made his morning too. <3 This is the kind of neighborhood gem we love to support — and even though we aren’t exactly in the neighborhood, we plan on being back soon and trying everything else on the menu.“
“Right off the beaten path of Central Ave is Galeria. They have two little tables outside when it's nice, and inside is a cute homey and clean spot with plenty of seats. Their coffees are great and empanadas are awesome for a quick grab. Also good for chicken sandwiches and breakfast platters! Owners are very sweet. They deserve your business instead of Dunkin. Prices for lattes are better and doesn't taste like a syrupy mess. Go here!“
“I've been looking for gluten free & nut free options west of Jersey Avenue, and Gussy's did their homework! I had a delicious gluten free breakfast sandwich, and their gluten free bread is fluffy and fresh (not frozen!). I came back for a breakfast wrap and was offered their chickpea (gf) wrap - which was just perfect! Their staff is super helpful and open to feedback, and the dine-in vibes are worth staying for!“
“Dames is my favorite café in all of downtown JC. The butterscotch latte and their famous banana bread are my staples there and their outdoor patio always provides a relaxing atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and I even enjoy their signature leaf designs on the creamy lattes!“
“Okafe continues to have the best baristas in Jcity. Service is always friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed. Sometimes the tables could be a little better maintained and get easily grimey and dirty from customer use.Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian options Ovo-veg options“
“This place is a neighborhood gem!!! The espresso here is on point, well prepared, roasty and full-bodied. Many delicious pastries prepared on site in this cozy shop located in a place that is the epitome of what corner stores once were in Jersey City. I'm so glad to see the welcoming proprietors preserved much of the architectural elements adding to the warm atmosphere. A job well done. Thank you!“
“Cute little neighborhood cafe. I had the Oatmeal and it was perfectly prepared. My hot matcha latte was foamy and they put a good amount of matcha. Thank you for not being stingy on the matcha :-). It's more expensive than coffee so I have a higher expectation. They offer WiFi so I was able to work for an hour and enjoy the day out.“
“my friends and I had lunch here today, 4/17, and we're out on search for our lobster rolls to try here.let me just say this is a must go to for amazing Food and not to mention the quality you get.Nancy also gave us a French fries with sauce and crab meat to sample! delicious as well as the lobster rolls!if you haven't been here yet, you need to give it a visit. highly recommend it and I know we'll be back“
“I've lived in Downtown Jersey City for 10yrs, and have seen Chris reinvent this place a couple of times. Now as a father - son team with a perfectly short menu of breakfast items, sandwiches, coffee and juice/smoothies, Chris continues to bring that eclectic neighborhood feel that fits perfectly with the DTJC vibe. Stopping by for one of his scrumptious egg sandwiches (I prefer sausage egg & cheese) and seeing their familiar, friendly faces is a great way to start the day. Keep Legal Grounds above ground! ✌️“
“Food here is beyond amazing. It's definitely worth it plus the portions are massive. For example, their paninis are so large my roommate and I couldn't finish one while sharing and we both est a lot.And the drinks are next level. Their Chai reminds me of the good stuff you'd get at hidden grounds in Hoboken, their iced coffee ice is frozen coffee and not just regular ice.I'm a huge fan overall, super friendly staff, will happily change up orders, etc. Pet friendly and the owner is very open to chat while you're waiting on food.“
“They serve the best tea in NJ!! If you ever come to Jersey City, this is a must visit place!!! Being a Taiwanese myself, this place is the most authentic bubble tea I ever have in the States. With the price you pay, the quality and quantity worth every penny spent:) I will have no problem drinking 3 cups per day if I live closeby. I hope they open another one soon in my area and all over NJ!!!“
“I had a great time. Good service, definitely spreading the word. Love the people, and the fragrance of fresh food made by the team! My friend, and I stopped by for the first time, but it definitely won't be our last. I was looking for chicory, and south based coffee, and this coffee place had popped in my searches. I'm glad I tried, and next time definitely taking some ground coffee too for home! :)“
“Family friendly place with amazing Moroccan mint tea, they put fresh mint leaves in it so it smells and tastes heavenly. A great place to step out of the cold and enjoy a bite to eat.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, I saw families getting together at this place and I felt like I was in someone's home. It is a little tight on the dining space for larger groups.“
“Hit up this cafe below a new luxury complex and right off the West Side light rail station!Pros:•Great vibes•Cool decor•Great atmosphere•Staff was very attentive and niceCons:Still not sure if the parking lot across the street is for the public or for the light rail users“
“Our new go to cafe! Spot on flat whites (hard to nail in this country), and good homey food. Had the egg on brioche sanny and my partner had the lox bagel. Will definitely come back, again and again :)Ps - there are a few tables inside but more outside which was nice today, we just sat outside.“
“This place is amazing, and the best kept secret for amazing coffee and beautiful ambiance in the area. Their coffee is honestly delicious as is their food, and I'm super picky about coffee. Big windows, beautiful natural light, quiet street, super friendly and attentive servers. Comfortable seating with tables. My 5 yo son and I come here all the time and I also often do work here. Kind of afraid to spoil the secret but they deserve to be loved by everyone as much as I love them!“
“The place is unique. Refreshing to the eyes. Staff are friendly and has absolute knowledge of the products. The coffee selection is wide and taste great and everything that comes with it. It is a must to go to place to hangout with friends, meetings and dates.“
“We loved this little coffee shop near historic downtown Jersey City. The interior is very relaxed and cute, service was wonderful and the lattes were made perfectly. We also enjoyed the chocolate croissant and they have a delicious selection of donuts too! ?“
“My son wanted to share his favorite coffee shop with me! Loved my latte! Flavorful and nice and hot! You can purchase coffee beans to go! There’s a series of coffees with fruit maceration! Like coconut or passion fruit! You get a fruity taste with your coffee! Hot and cold coffee drinks available. You can purchase on site or on line. Liked the decor! Friendly Staff! Caffeine & Dreams!! Looking forward to returning!“
“Really chill spot - stopped by here on a Saturday morning to grab a chai and a zaatar bagel and happy to report that it was delicious. The bagel was presented so well and tasted even better. This spot is very calm, relaxed and clean - it is in a residential building so I enjoyed the energy in the lobby. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a chill weekend morning coffee.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options to choose from.“
“One of my favorite recently discovered coffee spots. "Kind people are my kind of people." Just as it says up the cup this place makes sure they take care of the customer had my coffee hand delivered to me when I was sitting down. Coffee is on point didn't get to try any of the baked goods, but they looked awesome.“
“We were born and raised in Italy and this place is absolutely a gem of Italian pastry and focaccia, plus the kind and friendly employees. We absolutely love this place and recommend it to everyone. Keep it up... Thanks Simone.. Tomorrow we will be here again.... TOP“
“I just finished the Raclette sandwich and it was by far one of the best sandwiches I have ever ate. I had to instantly stop and write a review. I have been to this cafe to get some work done and every time I've been here it is amazing. I am an absolute coffee snob and I feel like they are such great quality, the food is excellent, and the workers are warm and inviting! The seating is great and comfortable. Plus it kind of feels like someone's home which is incredible! A must visit spot and a truly hidden gem!“

“Easily the best matcha in the area. Their Sober Matcha has the best foam and matcha quality, no other places come close. The staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is stellar. Love this place so so much! Lots of fun drinks to try if you want to switch it up from your regular cafes. Always worth a trip here.“
“We ordered our engagement cake from Cocoa Bakery and were extremely happy with how everything came out. This was our first time ordering a large cake and the cake expert was very patient with us and walked us through all the various flavors/styles/fillings and was very transparent about the pricing. The cake exceeded expectation. We knew we wanted a naked cake style to match our rustic them and they worked with us finding using example pictures to style our cake exactly as we wanted. The process was no stress. We were late at ordering the cake (about 2.5 weeks out) but they had helped us confirm the cake/size quickly and once we were confirmed they took care of everything and the cake was delivered fresh on time. The cake was more than enough to feed all our guest, delicious and so fresh. The buttercream frosting was delicious and our cake expert gave us tips on how to serve it to preserve the taste. I highly recommend them! Thanks so much!“
“Super cute neighborhood cafe with lots of comfy seating and good coffee. Live music sometimes. Very decent food options throughout the day: egg sandwiches, avocado toast, lunch salads, cold sandwiches, and pastries. I liked the prosciutto fig sandwich on ciabatta which is a new addition to the menu.“
“I’ve been to this cafe many times because they are one of the few cafes in JC with plenty of space for reading/working and healthy food options. I’ve tried their avocado and chicken sandwich, avocado toast, egg and cheese wrap and their brekki quinoa bowl. I prefer the avocado and chicken sandwich and the egg and cheese wrap but I liked that everything was light and healthy and made me feel good about my body after eating them. The owner is also very friendly and polite. This cafe is located in the lobby of a luxury apartment building. I’d definitely recommend this cafe.Vegetarian options: Avocado toast“

“This coffee shop is fantastic. The salmon toast and the Belgian avocado egg and cheese were incredibly flavorful, showcasing the freshness of their ingredients. The standout, however, was the coffee, particularly the original French Toast Latte, a must-try. Despite the chilly weather today, the indoor seating area was bustling, but luckily, the friendly and attentive staff made sure everyone felt welcome and well taken care of. Plus, the convenience of credit card acceptance adds to the overall positive experience.“
