New to the area and wanted a beer and burger so I Yelped this place. Drove past and wasn't sure I wanted to go in as the area around was very seedy, and the tavern had no sign out front and was really run down looking. However, I decided to go in with my boyfriend. The food was awesome and the service was great!! A must try, but bring Cash, it's a cash only place. Chili and Pastrami were great too!
The battle continues of the best burger in NJ between Park and Krugs in Newark and I go with Park Tavern because of the location , service, ample space, The people who work there and the crowd in general which is very laid back. Great spot overall a true classic not to be replicated spot. —Sonny
Didn't eat. Killed two hours here rather easily. Immediately had two open spots at the bar but we were lucky in our timing, this place can get full fast. Never had to wait for a new drink, bartenders were on top of everything.It's a local stop in Jersey City, though, so be prepared for the accent and the attitude. If you're not from Hudson County, it might seem a little rough, but this is a great spot. Lean into it.
