Excellent Jamaican oxtails. The price 22.50 was a bit steep for only 5 pieces and the area it’s located in but I will be back :)
This food was amazing. It was a taste of Jamaica and the Dominican Republic put together perfectly 10 out of 10 will definitely be back and the prices were amazing.

The Island Deli & Restaurant is a hidden gem in Jersey City offering a fusion of Jamaican and Dominican flavors. The restaurant serves authentic Caribbean cuisine, and the aroma of seasoning and good food fills the air upon entering. The female staff is nice, friendly, welcoming, and provides outstanding customer service. The Oxtail Rasta Pasta is a best seller, made fresh to order with a wait of 15 to 20 minutes. The oxtail is tender and falls off the bone, while the pasta is flavorful, juicy, and al dente. The jerk chicken Rasta pasta is packed with flavor, and the jerk chicken is juicy with just the right amount of sauce. The curry chicken Jamaican patty has a good amount of chicken and perfect curry. Other menu items include chicharron with pickled red onions, chicharron with tostones, wings, bacon, egg and cheese, fried fish with yellow rice and plantain, fried chicken, and fried pork. The fried chicken is crispy, juicy, and tender. The pricing and portions are great. The wait is a little while, but for fresh food and great service, customers will not be disappointed. This is a true hidden local gem and a new breakfast spot.
