“Pastrami is very good. Moist and fresh. The quantity will vary depending on on who is making it but most are decent portions. They also have tasty home cooked dinners, perogis , potato pancakes and other things. But it’s all about the pastrami.“
“Coming from a Polish guy l, it really is home-made Polish food. If you're in the mood for Polish food, this is the spot. I'm so glad I can get good food on my way to work on this side of the island. Now I just need them to deliver when I'm working nearby.“
“I've come here on a few occasions for dinner and it has been phenomenal every time! The food is amazing, great atmosphere, but the service is where they shine most. After a last minute fall out with the venue for my friends bridal shower, I thought to bring our event to Tatra Haus pretty last minute and they completely saved the day. We were able to get a long table in the area near the bar so it felt extremely private and we had an extra table for a flower bar activity. The pre-fixe menu options for our event were great, and we were able to get pitchers of sangria + mimosas which worked out so well. So accommodating and amazing every step of the way - highly recommend whether it's a private event or casual dinner!“
“a wonderful place to go to! When dining out, having great food, excellent service, and a pleasant ambiance can greatly enhance the overall experience. A delicious meal, attentive staff, and a comfortable environment all contribute to creating a memorable dining experience. It's always a pleasure to find a place that excels in all these aspects.“
“Our go-to for pierogi! Potato and cheese is our regular choice. The only reason I’m giving four stars for service is that they don’t offer preorders. The staff was friendly and helpful, but it took me two trips (over an hour away) to get our order.“
“Amazing polish deli! I'm Polish so I've been to a number of Polish deli's and restaurants but this one has truly amazing home made Polish food just like my grandmother use to make!!! I'm general they have a great selection of Polish products and the couple that work there are the sweetest and very informed of their products! This place is amazing go visit it!“
“One of the best places that has authentic polish cuisine. Also this is the best place for you to get kielbasa pierogies whatever you want it's delicious and fresh they make the food daily go to the back and you'll see it even try the rye bread it would be to the left of the food.Vegetarian options: I am a vegetarian and I get the potato and cheese I also got side orders which is really great like their string beans is delicious and just even their coleslaw or sauerkraut with rye bread is a meal“
“I stepped in Sawa expecting to get a quick bacon egg and cheese, not knowing it was a polish deli. I also never had polish food in my life and the lady at the counter was very friendly. I asked if she had any recommendations and she recommended the Polish sandwich, which was kielbasa, sauerkraut, and mustard. I passed on the sauerkraut, but the sandwich was so good that I’m here writing a google review, which I never do. I can’t wait to come back again and try new foods.“
“Linden is a neighborhood that was once all Polish. Not so much now, but it still attracts many Polish patrons wanting to drink and eat the familiar cuisine. Located on West Price Street off of a busy Wood Avenue and highly recommended, some of my colleagues came to this hidden gem, Amsterdam Alley for lunch. Upon arrival, the establishment isn’t a large building and has outdoor seating available. Upon entering, the inside has a front room with a bar and several high-top tables. The back room has standard-height tables. Both rooms have several TVs. It's inviting, charming, rustic, and very clean. We were greeted by the staff and decided on a table in the back room. Our server, Kasia, was informative and accommodating. There were several menus given to us: the main had a big variety of Polish classics; today’s special; and lunch. We ordered from the lunch menu and got six pieces of pierogis with mushroom soup, a Polish-style mushroom-stuffed baguette, and a grilled Polish kielbasa sandwich with sautéed onions and pickles, accompanied by fries. The food was excellent, fresh, and authentically Polish! However, there was a small incident with the soup, but our server was able to rectify the problem. The portions were just right, and the prices were amazing. We could recommend this place.“
“Give it a try. Food tastes homemade, like your Polish grandma made it, or if you're not Polish and had a childhood friend who was, like that friend's mama made it. Food is made fresh every day. You can get some traditional hot Polish foods, pierogi, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa/kraut, potato pancakes, and you can get some non-traditional hot foods, Goulash, chicken cutlet...w/mashed. You can buy kielbasa and pierogis to cook yourself at a future date, and fresh sauerkraut. Lots of imported Polish goodies, and if you don't know what they are, just ask.Fresh deli meats and cheeses. Try a sandwich!Extremely friendly owner, working hard to earn your dollar. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy.“
