Calabria Pizzeria & Restaurant

I’ll share my experience … I do t know what planet Dave Portnoy was on when he judged this restaurant / Pizzeria .. My wife and I was several months ago only because we were in Livingston at the time … it was OK .. went back a week ago and. The pie STUNK !! Dry as a bone … You can get this same pie at any local pizzeria anywhere ! We left and just to be nice I looked at the owners daughter and said .. Thank You … it was good just to be polite .. She looked at me like I had two heads. She is the Most Unsociable person ever ! Clueless Clueless … WE WILL NEVER GO BACK … It STINKS and I’m letting everyone know it !!

Cracker thin crust. Upside down is even crispier than the regular. 10/10. These wackos complaining that it's floppy must have ordered delivery. Every bite was crispy, though the longer I sat, the less crispy it became (obviously.) Eat it in the restaurant. They're not magicians, you can't keep a crispy pie covered in cheese and sauce crisp for 45 minutes in the backseat of a Camry. These people leaving less stars must have different expectations of what crispy think crust pizza should be. Delicious thin crust pizza. Half hot honey pep and half upside down plain.

Pizza was mediocre, got the thin crunchy pie, it was thin but not crunchy. Staff not all that friendly. Think an ego check would be fair, barstool sports 8.9 all over the store and boxes. Almost like they're advertising portnoy/Barstool and not Calabrias.

I normally do not review pizza parlors but I want to call out this place for racial discrimination.

I called this place and had a common conversation about ordering a large cheese pizza for pick up. Had a short conversation expressing I wanted a large cheese pizza.
The person answering the phone asked for my phone number (I told them) asked for my name (I told them) then asked me for my last name (very uncommon for a pizza place, but I told them). Then asked if I wanted my pizza crispy or not crispy (I responded crispy).

I walked into the place to pick up my order and received insulting looks from staff and a half cooked pizza (not crispy).

Stop marketing your review...

Got the crispy pizza - was not at all crispy, and kinda didn’t seem hand made - seemed like one of those conveyor belt pizzas

i ordered food 6:28 it was delivered 8:13 . taste zero. costumer servise zero . girl who answered was not nice and they left food outside without any notice to us. no knock on the door. no call.no doorbell. they just lost a good costumer !!!

Food was great and so was service. Atmosphere gets half cuz i didnt dine in. I saw the inside it looked nice enough. Their pizza are geat. Thin crust. Hot honey pepperoni.

Definitely not a 8.9, the pizza was not crunchy, underdone, greasy, and all you really tasted what the flour on the bottom. Only thing it had going for it is that it’s relatively thin. Very similar to a slightly thinner 1 dollar slice you find in nyc. OVERHYPED!!

I’ve been to many pizzerias and Calabria is one of the best! From the minute we sat, Joe came over and introduce himself to us and made us feel like part of the family. Come to know, he grew up around the corner from me in Newark.

Even though we found Calabria’s through a recommendation, inside is everything a non-pretentious, local Italian pizza restaurant should be: excellent plain and Sicilian pizza that’ll convince you that you’ve found your new local spot.

Pizza was a Giant disappointment, I’ve had other 8+ rated pizzas on the list and there is absolutely no way on the planet this “thin and crispy” is what Dave ate. They have his picture and rating posted all over the place which lead to a highly anticipated delicious pie. Absolutely let down to say the least.

The service and atmosphere was phenomenal. Unfortunately the pizza was Sub par. We will not be returning.
