“We were in manasquan and walked into the Commited Pig, only one choice of soup and no Caesar salad so we couldn’t COMMIT!…see this Mexican restaurant across the street, decide to try and WOW! “I tried a quick lunch at Surf Tacos in Manasquan. Cool place, clean with a beachy vibe and interior. Service was prompt, which is always good. I ordered the $15 plate with 2 tacos, chips, beans, rice, and a drink that is a substantial meal. Opted for a Mahi and a Surf (breaded cod) taco to mix it up. They have a nice salsa bar, and I tried a little of them all. Drink offers soda or a tea dispenser.
The Cod taco was heavily breaded and not very tasty. Salsa helped. The Mahi was blackened and offered plenty of taste. I'd order it again.
Overall, I was pleased with this taco combo as a lunch option. Service and restaurant were nice, I'll visit again.“

“My take out burrito was very tasty and I love the reusable take out bag. One suggestion, get a better bowl. Your square plastic container was too big for the portion and the bottom was loaded with crevasses the stole my food. Your competitors use a smaller, flat bottom, cardboard bottom bowl for a reason.“

“So before I go into this, I'm just gonna say look it's a fast food place, obviously not a fancy restraunt. So the food is great. I mean, it's the same across the board, I feel. The staff is basically non-existent due to it being hard to find people. It's just a few people making food, so if you're paying cash, you might be waiting a bit. Other than that same old same old. The restraint itself is set up a little weird. Every table is looking into the middle, and the lights are way too low. i always hit my head on them. Bur over all. It's a taco bell! The food is great the staff that is there is friendly and the way the restraunt looks won't keep me from going there“

“I am a Gringo, but kind of an expert with Mexican Food. And my Spouse is from Mexico.

We ate here today, Monday, 10/14/24, around 4:00 p.m., it was our first visit.
The food was awesome!
We each had Enchiladas De Mole Oaxaqueño con Pollo ( Chicken ) comes with rice and beans on the side.
The chicken was tender,the Mexican rice was fresh and excellent, the beans were good. The side of Salsa Picante ordered specially, was great on the rice. The most delicious item was the Mole Oaxaquena; dark, rich, and with some spice!!! Also had a side of Guacamole that was fresh and very good! Orchata was good.
The tortillas are handmade! Prices were very fair and the place is BYOB. I would recommend this establishment for an authentic Mexican meal!!! Most Especially…..the Mole Oaxaquena!!!
Atmosphere and Decor was okay. The servers were friendly and efficient!
As with most places, bathroom could have been a little cleaner.“

“Not flashy, simple, deli kind of set up. almost hole in the wall. My first impression was....ummm..naa..but since my wife picked up the place, I kind of kept quiet and was willing to try it. Boy was I wrong!! This place turned out to be AMAZING. Probably one of the best Mexican food we have had. Ask for a burrito with BBQ sauce inside it.“

“I’m about a month behind on this review but I love this restaurant! The food is always good and we always get great service. I ordered two Caja Loca packs and some extra stuff for my husband’s birthday back in August. I came by the day before and paid for it all, told them when I needed it, and it was super easy to take care of. I came by the next day and it was hot and ready for us. They were very sweet and the food was incredible. And it fed a bunch of us! Love El Pollito Loco and their staff. Thanks for making my husband’s birthday special. You guys are great!“

“Authentic Mexican food. I had the chili Relleno which was delicious. The chilequiles verde con carne were a very light green that I have never seen before but they were not lacking in flavor....they were pretty good. The tamales were a bit dry however. Last time we had tacos al pastor which were delicious. The owners are very nice and friendly. A nice find. They only have 4 tables inside. They do mostly takeout...but both times we ate in and noticed alot of repeat customers and the owners greeting them. Nice customer interaction. I will go back and continue to try new things!“

“I ordered for the first time here. I ordered a bowl with grilled chicken. The bowl was missing the chicken. The website sent the order to the store missing the grilled chicken so definitely not the fault of the store. When I came back they showed me the slip confirming that the mistake was on the end of the website. They were super nice about it and just added the grilled chicken to the bowl for me. Both people working there were helpful and nice.“

“First time here. Ordered a pineapple 🍍 margarita. It's good except it doesn't taste like pineapple 😞🍍. Where is the sliced pineapple on the cup and the maraschino 🍒? But for the sake of not being high maintenance, I will end it here. Just asked. They don't have pineapples. lol“

You can sit outside on the picnic benches to eat or get your food ordered to go. Call ahead if you would like and pick up or pull over and enjoy some great food.
