We've rounded up Belmar's top Mexican spots for you to try.
“Absolutely awesome Mexican food. I had the chicken mole and it was delicious, very reminiscent of what I ate on vacation in Mexico. The other guests got the chicken tacos and all were very satisfied. Apparently was recently renovated. Was very clean. Food was hot and prompt.“
“We were on a road trip and stumbled upon this mexican restaurant, people are smiling, I love the mexican flavor here, the food is fresh, they serve me fresh cactus with my steak, i like the freshness, the appetizer and crispy nacho. They have a parking at the back. I hope to come backParking: At the back of the restaurant“
“Went here twice in just a 2-week window. The staff were helpful in answering any confusions I had. The food was also great. I ordered beef tacos both times I came here for dinner.I also like that this place has free chargers for both iPhones and iPads. I brought Bluetooth headphones with me both times I went here, so I was still able to listen to radio stations out of Central/Northern Arizona while waiting for my portable charger and my iPhone to reach sufficient battery for a 5-Hour trip back to campus.“
“CHANGE YOUR STREET CORN BACK, PLEASE! I BEG OF YOU! The new version (smaller bites for people to "share") SUCKS compared to the previous version. I looked forward to ordering it every visit and the last time I was there I was devastated. The bites have no kernels on them, the flavor is gone, blah blah blah. I love everything else there, just bring the original f#%king street corn back.“
“I really loved everything about Oaxaca by the Sea. The service was great and the food was delicious and plentiful. I'm salivating at the thought of finishing up part two tonight as we left with a huge doggie bag.Thank you for a great dining experience. I'm looking forward to coming back again soon with family and friends.“
“Simply incredible! My bf and I have been wanting to go here since hearing about it and I definitely wish we had gone sooner because it was delicious. We had the chicken empanadas, papas rellenas, and birria eggrolls for appetizers all of which were great! The magic green sauce was so good I would put it on anything. We shared the picanha and shrimp for dinner and every single thing on the plate was amazing. The fresh salsa and chimichurri sauce were the freshest and best I've ever tasted and you could cut the meat with a fork. The yucca fries were also such a nice touch! We loved the rice and beans served with the shrimp as well. Perhaps the best part of the evening was the amazing service from Eric and his wait staff. Our server was so sweet and attentive despite having several tables to tend to. We were so touched by Eric's story and inspiration for Heights 167 and all of that came through in the food. My bf and I agreed that the picanha may have been the best meal we've ever had. Eric, we wish you the absolute best and cannot wait to come back and try everything on your menu because we know it will be delicious!“
“I first came here in October 2023 and had tacos de tripa. THE BEST. Honestly, these were the BEST tacos de tripa I have ever had in my whole life. I live 50 minutes way from here, but I came two more times in December to have their tacos de tripa. It’s worth the drive. I will be a returning customer for sure. The staff are friendly, the restaurant is clean, warm, well decorated with Mexican artifacts and decorations. I love this place.Gracias por su buen trato y los mejores tacos de tripa en Nueva Jersey. Definitivamente volveré aquí por mis tacos.“
“This was an amazing experience!Thank you so much Jessica.!!!! She provided great service, amazing authentic food and had the best Mexican music playing. I will definitely be coming here all year long. Thank you so much Elray restaurant. ❤️“
“Our family has been to this place many times and we do enjoy it. The ambience is just perfect, feels like you are on vacation. Fajita is my favorite dish, usually take mixed fajita (beef, shrimp and chicken), which is served on a sizzling hot skillet along with grilled onions and peppers. The meat and vegetables are served with warm tortillas, guacamole, beans, rice, sour cream, and salsa. Delightful.“
“I've been out in this area for about four years now and I've tried a lot of Spanish & Mexican places. This is hands-down, my favorite so far. All the ingredients tasted super fresh and the steak This is hands-down, my favorite so far. The Steak Azteca Salad was excellent. I would've been in a photo, but I devoured it in about five minutes. Will definitely be ordering from this place again.“
“At the spur of the moment, we decided to stop for food while we're shopping out here. This is a great little spot.I had the quesa-birria tacos and my better half went for the warm chicken salad in the taco shell. We really enjoyed it. Similar to west coast style birria, but the soupita/consomme had a bit cilantro in it (I love cilantro) and not overly salty as they tend to be. Crunchy taco shell (corn option available) melted cheese and dipping that taco in the soupita, dam!Better half loved her salad and was a little upset she couldn't eat it all (nice sized portions, though not oversized). She stole the leftover soupita for the salad (she loved it too).If this sounds good and you're nearby, then this may be a place for you to check out. Love spreading the word on good little spots.“
“I have been meaning to try this place for a while and finally got around to it. I ordered off grubhub and there was an issue with processing through the app so the driver was cancelled. When my husband went to pick the food up the restaurant offered 10% off and free sodas which was much appreciated. The Birria and Al Pastor tacos were both EXCELLENT. Between the food and the customer service, this will definitely not be our last meal at Mi Casa Tu Casa!“
“This morning I went in after my workout to get a breakfast burrito and WOW was it fantastic. The hot sauce is hot and delicious! The burrito had some great spices and I loved it! I will definitely be back. Was filling as well!Cost after tax: $15.80“
“Yo. I am writing this review the morning after having a Luna Verde FEAST. (It was the first thing I thought about this morning.)The food was so delicious! Thoughtfully prepared, beautiful(!), and such generous portions. There’s a quesadilla in my fridge that has caused some arguments as to who will consume, but such is expected when dealing with delicious leftovers. So, so good.“
“This place is a gem. Wonderful, fresh food that tasted homemade and was presented beautifully. We stopped in on our way out of town, just looking for a bite, and we felt so fortunate to happen upon this place. We ordered a chicken torta and a burrito, and both were excellent. The woman who served us was kind and welcoming.“
“Love this spot. Fantastic traditional tacos! Always spot on and consistent with flavor and texture.Dietary restrictions: I have a gluten allergy, so opt for corn over flour, and enjoy having options where I don't have to bother anyone about changing anything and also don't have to worry about having a reaction.“
“I've never been let down here. I've tried a bunch of stuff on the menu from their nachos to tacos (+dorados) to tostadas and it's always a treat. The food is absolutely fantastic and reasonably priced and the staff is so nice. You cannot beat getting this quality Mexican food a block away from the beach.“
“Everything we tried was lovely! The coxhinas were the most exceptional item we ordered - so complex and balanced. I could not get enough of the ajo verde! The escabeche was also superb. The pickling liquid was drinkable. I wish you sold it in bulk so I could take a quart home!“
“My first time coming to Tacoholics. I got the caesar chicken salad wrap from which was very good I just wish there was more dressing in it. And the dorito nachos were phenomenal. I still dream about them to this day. They were extremely good. It's a cute little place with booths. Great lunch spot! If you go I definitely recommend the dorito nachos!“
“This place has never let me down! Great authentic tasting Mexican food! ? It’s my go to place and I just can’t get enough of it! And the staff is always incredibly nice. I highly recommend the chicken empanadas, the Chicken or Pork Burrito Bowls, and the caramel churros!“
“I love this place! Really cute atmosphere if you want to eat in, but I usually order take out. Everything I've had from here has been great ?. Some of my favorites are the pulled chicken chimichangas and carnitas tacos. Today I tried the tacos al pastor... Holy Cow they were good! Everything is so fresh. They just launched online ordering, which is really nice. I might have to go back tomorrow! Try it out and let me know what you think“
“Wonderful family run restaurant. The food was delicious. We started with guacamole that was so flavorful. The Columbia empanadas. Yum. For entrees ceviche which was fresh, lomo de saltado, quesadilla, and burrito so good. Highly recommend if you are in the area.“
“The idea of being able to pick from five different types of cuisine all under one roof is so cool. Not only that, but the quality of the food itself was top-notch, Dean (the owner) is super friendly and helpful, and the prices are totally fair. I seriously can’t wait to come here again. (Their boba is phenomenal too)“
“Walked by one morning on our way to Offshore, checked out the menu, the tacos caught our attention, specifically the Baja Fish and Tulum Shrimp tacos, a couple of our favorites. Decided to come back for lunch the next day. We ordered the aforementioned tacos. Server was nice, brought our drinks fairly quickly along with some tortilla chips... but no salsa. Had to go inside and request it later. Salsa has good flavor, they have a green and red, mild to medium spice. Tacos arrived, they looked great, nice presentation... but the shrimp was seriously lacking in flavor. My wife and I have had shrimp tacos in Tulum and these weren't even close. Plus only 2 medium-sized bland shrimp in each taco. The Baja Fish taco had decent flavored sauce on it. The tortillas were not warmed or grilled or anything on either tacos.“
“Came here for lunch on a Saturday around 2pm and was a little busy but several seats open. Staff is super friendly and the interior is clean. Didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive at the table.Ordered the beef taco and shrimp tacos. Loved the flavor combination and the beef and shrimp were fresh. The beef and shrimp were a bit too sweet in my opinion but that's if I'm nit picking.I will say for the price per taco, there could be a bit more shrimp and beef. Comparable Mexican tacos come cheaper and with more protein filling. I think to be more competitive, they could do better in that aspect.I also ordered the hotteok with vanilla ice cream and it's phenomenal. Easily one of the best desserts I've had. Absolutely love the texture and flavor combination. The ice cream they use is also amazing. Will absolutely order this every time I come back.“
“This is a family run business. Everyone is warm and friendly. Service was fast and great. They offer great specials weekly. Food is cooked in less oil than you traditional Chinese restaurants. There is a restroom for customers only which is very clean. You can find parking on the right side of the building.“
“I've been a regular here for years now. For the most part, this has been the safest choice we make because the food rarely disappoints. I haven't been in since COVID, only getting delivery and pickup monthly to weekly. They're not perfect but it's always innocent stuff. This is a place I recommend to anyone moving to the area.“
“Fins is my vet fav lunch stop. It is always very Clean, staff is friendly , service is fast , and most important , Food is hot and delicious! My regular choices are veggie enchiladas, and fish tacos. Cookies for dessert too!Very relaxing environment.I truly appreciate your customer service.Keep up the good work !“
“Goodquality Mexican food. Shrimp Diablo was quite tasty! Place was relatively busy but not hectic. Food is freshly prepared. Complimentary chips and salsa are the perfect accompaniment. Service was nice. The bakery display looked delicious. Will have to swing by for some pastries.“
“Jose's is absolutely a gem in spring lake I've been going for years and every time it's always amazing. The horchata is always fresh, the burritos are absolutely worth the price, and frankly cheap compared to the weight of them. And do yourself a favor and grab a tamale with your food. Everything here is as good as the first day I found it“
“Galindos is one of my favorite local places in Long Branch to order food. Me and my buddy always order take out from them and get the burritos. I personally get chicken on mine, but there are a lot of options. Very large portion sizes and great quality, and the prices are great! Also recommend the horchata!“
“Food is great, staff is friendly and welcoming. Love this place I enjoy the seafood soup. But all the food here is delicious and they give you plenty of it.Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is a ramp not just steps which makes it easier for people in the world chair.“
“Small and family owned but i would be the first to invest in them ! They are always friendly and the prices are reasonable! I would highly recommend ordering their fresh tacos !Vegetarian options: fresh vegetables usedKid-friendliness: healthy ingredients“
“We were out shopping and decided to grab lunch before heading home. We had our 8 month old son with us and had asked if we could get him some chicken. The owner said absolutely and even cut it up in small pieces for us. He didn’t charge us for the chicken either which was unbelievably nice. Food was great and our little bud enjoyed his chicken tooo! Thank you!“
“This place is an incredible bang for your buck. I usually order either the nachos or the polo/bistec Mexicana and the amount of delicious food you get for the price is unrivaled in the area. I’ve been coming for years and have never been disappointed.“
“Delicious!! Freshly made chips and tortillas. Had the fajita and rice and beans were even delicious. Spouse had the combo chimichanga, burrito and enchilada and it was enough to feed 3 people! Delicious. Friendly and attentive staff. Don't hesitate- just go and enjoy!“
“This place is the best authentic Mexican place I've ever been to. They are so kind and give you such a good deal for what you get. I only paid about $17.50 for a drink and my three tacos. They also give you free home made corn chips Every time you eat in. If they don't have the self serve sauces available they will give it to you in containers. I've been here with my boyfriend so many times and it never disappoints me. The food is always high quality. The pink building and colorful environment is different but very authentic. They won't even let you clean up after yourself if the owner is there.“
“Love this place and try to visit regularly. The shrimp tacos are seriously delicious and my staple. All the dishes are fresh and flavorful (the chicken dish is great too) and the place is super clean. Love the chips and sauces that come with it.“
“Very friendly customer service and the waitress is very sweet. The food portions are good because you can take left overs for later. Prices are fair and the salsa verde is very tasty the red one has a spicy taste to it agua de guallaba was amazing“
“I’ve been eating at Azteca since they were located in Tom’s River. Every time the food exceeds my expectations. They have plenty of vegetarian options (the nachos are my favorite) and the food is fairly priced as well, and they give you large portions. Their desserts are delicious, also! Definitely one of my favorites!“
“Good food. Friendly staff. Very enjoyable.Update: I live around the corner and frequently eat here. The food is always very good.I don't understand why El Rey seems empty when the restaurants next door are busy. I've eaten at both of the restaurants next door and the food was mediocre at best. Very confusing.“
