First time at Artie's since the move and name change from Arturo's in the village. The new place is big and modern with a warehouse vibe similar to Porta's in Asbury park. The pizza is amazing the crust has a little more tooth than a typical wood fired style you can taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients at first bite. Will definitely return.

Artie's used to be known as Arturo's and it was in Maplewood Village. Now they are located off of Springfield Avenue near the police station in a newly refurbished space with lots of tables and the atmosphere is fantastic! Formerly they didn't offer wine, but now they have a liquor license and a nice selection of wine and beer. In addition to offering pizzas and other Italian specialties, you can come here in the mornings for coffee and pastries - win/win!

This place might be the best Pizza in New Jersey (and I do not make that statement lightly)! Albeit in a strange location surrounded by industrial buildings, Artie's is a beautiful restaurant that has a small menu but does it incredibly well. A few pasta dishes, exquisite pizzas, some salads and appetizers. It is all made to perfection. The place is great for either a date night or to bring family.

Watery pizza and super over priced for all the hype. Dave Portnoy where you at. Maplewood Nj is for sure a place to stay away from when it comes to pizza. Can’t even eat the crust majority burnt smh. Servers and kitchen staff not on point. Again poor training to see something like this delivered to the table. Turned into a Plate of soup and made sure to bring it to their attention. Came For a visit and what a waste of time and money.

Sick of no reservations lengthy wait times that overall ruin the experience every time without fail
This is a great place for lunch or dinner. No reservations taken so you have to wait. This place knows how to make bread. Their pizza was amazing! The prosciutto sandwich was more like a panini however great also! Their pastries are so flaky and fresh. The meatball appie with a dab of ricotta was outstanding. Will definitely return to try more!

Pretty much the best wood fired pizza I have had anywhere in NJ. Went there twice and both times it was excellent (munching on the doggy bag pizza as I write this). Nice selection of "small plates" to accompany the pizza. Both times went on a Sunday; I suggest getting there before noon if you don't like waiting and want a parking spot in their rather small lot behind the restaurant.

I used to love getting pizza from Arturo's in Maplewood Village. Maplewood Village has several pizzerias, but Arturo's thin crust pizza was always a favorite of mine.
I was glad Arturo's was still around and visited them tonight in their new Maplewood location on Newark Street, near Hilton Branch Library and the Maplewood Police Station. The restaurant renamed Artie's has a bar with wine and fancy cocktails, and is in a much larger space. The menu still has a nice selection of pizzas, pastas and salads and in addition lots of breakfast and bread items which are available in the morning, as well as throughout the day.
I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the noise level was very high. Arturo's was always packed but I was able to have a conversation. Tonight's dinner was excessively loud I thought, but that isn't a bad thing, because it means that business is good. Will return.
