As my culinary travels abroad come to a close, I ventured on a last-minute trip to picturesque Bucks County in Pennsylvania, where my dear friends took me to a hidden gem of a restaurant - Canal House Station. I must confess, it stole my heart and I shall be staying here for a while to discover more. Stay tuned for my upcoming post, where I shall entertain you with all the delightful details. “The staff are all kind, helpful, accommodating, and genuinely there to make your evening perfect. Chris the hostess was wonderful, as well as the many servers who all willingly supported Gary, the owner, to provide the best service and culinary experience possible for his dinner guests. The menu is one of the best we have seen in the area with many international dishes, some with the labor intensive Indian nuances, and others just with downright phenomenal flavors. Although they have lots of standard fare for the UNadventurous eater, I would suggest you reach past your comfort zone and try some of the appetizers that jump out as potential winners...like the tuna tartare that with just a splash of Japanese Rice wine vinegar would be one of the best I have ever had, as well as the grilled Tandoori shrimp that is marinated in yogurt, ginger, cloves nutmeg, and dried mango; the grilled lamp chops that come with three perfectly grilled meaty garlicky chops that come with mango chutney, and the Haryali chicken Tikka- three huge plump boneless breast of chicken slices that are marinated in mint, yogurt, roasted cloves, green cardamom and star anise, and served with their famous tiger sauce and salsa. We also shared another marinated shredded beef dish special that had three beef croquette-shaped mounds that had such a umami of flavors I can't even replicate it in this review, but we thought it was just great. I would be remiss if I did not mention the creamy, silky crème brûlée that we enjoyed with a glass of Prosecco; a perfect encore to the phenomenal culinary treat we had just experienced with the appetizer medley. Sharing many apps is more fun we think, than committing to one big entree, so we suggest that you dash over to the Pittstown Inn TONIGHT, and tell them Debbie and Gene sent you....ask to meet Gary, the owner, who elegantly floats from table to table, touching each to greet them and to check later on as well to see if everything was to their liking. A true host from days gone by, this owner is the real deal whose passion for the hospitality business emulates from his constant smile from the joy he is getting from making his guests happy. You see that what fuels this man to keep opening his doors from year to year, despite the many hardships and setbacks life has dealt us all over and over, is his love for you, his loyal customer. He is a rare find, so I suggest you go and treat yourself to the real deal in dining. You will not be disappointed, and be sure to ask to meet Gary. He will make your visit complete. Kudos the phenomenal chefs I met as well, for their expertise and genuine ingenuity in designing a menu to please everyone. Can you tell we LOVE this place??????????“

“This bakery has excellent vegan pastries!

My favorite is the blueberry muffin, which is perfectly moist, has a crumb top, is the right amount of sweet, and doesn’t fall apart.
Reminds me of the one Whole Foods used to have back in the day, but better.

Always have a few vegan options: espresso cookie, a strawberry mousse cookie sandwich, a shortbread cookie, and a brownie are ones I’ve seen. All are very good and the prices are reasonable.
Pair with an oat cap from Birdnest next door.“

“Byron’s Place II catered my daughter’s baby shower this past weekend. Everyone loved the flavor of all the food provided. Last minute something came up and they offered to deliver the food for me instead of me having to go pick it up. The young man that deliver food was helpful in setting everything up. The food was amazing and I would recommend Byron‘s place II for your next catering event.. Absolutely delicious and amazing!“

“We just celebrated a 96th birthday last night at Pizza Village. We could not have asked for better service! The entire staff was so welcoming to all our guests, drinks (including from the bar) were brought out on a timely basis. Each guest (16 total) ordered from the menu. Our food was brought out all together, no one had to wait, and everyone’s order was correct and delicious! The wait staff kindly cut & served the cake. It was an absolutely enjoyable experience!!!“

“I ordered a 16" sicilian German pizza and I'm very particular with my sicilian Pie but needless to say this didn't disappoint. A hefty pie with a tasty sauce and plenty of toppings. We'll mannered man came to the door and had a short but pleasant conversation. Overall a great experience with even better food!“

“I love Panera, this particular restaurant has been open for quite some time and is showing its age. The men’s room is extremely tired and needs to be renovated. The main dining area also looks and feels very dated. Some of the seating areas are quite uncomfortable. But there is plenty of room.“
