“My husband and I were craving Indian so we decided to try this place. Firstly, picking up it was the nicest customer service. The man was so personal and friendly, it was like walking into a family restaurant. He gave me a tea, some yummy dessert and he didn’t even want to accept money for it.

Secondly, we devoured everything. It was all so delicious and it filled us all up. We got three things but the chicken tikka was amazing.

Overall, I would highly recommend ordering from here. You won’t be disappointed.“

“This is the only place I feel safe ordering in from as someone with food allergies. I have a dairy and gluten allergy and they are so accommodating with the dishes. You get big portions for a good price and the food is always so fresh. I also have a super stomach with some problems so I always feel icky eating out and since the food is cooked in high quality oil I never feel icky after eating here which is SO rare for me. The owner is incredibly kind and told me how she also has food allergies and is happy to make modifications and help. It’s so rare that restaurants welcome modifications and she always does so for me. I’ve never gotten sick here and it’s the one restaurant I feel comfortable ordering in from and look forward to doing so every week. The entire staff is helpful and are always kind and respectful even when the phone is ringing like crazy and there’s a line for pick up. They never rush you and always make you feel welcome. A local gem- thank you to the incredibly owner for giving us allergy people a safe place with delicious food and for accommodating me with a smile. I appreciate you so much. “the BEST chinese food i’ve ever had! i ordered the shrimp and broccoli after stumbling upon rave reviews on an empty stomach. it’s so fresh and delectable, i ultimately came back the next day. the boneless spare ribs combo with pork fried rice is exceptional, no exaggeration. fresh cut vegetables in the rice, house-made BBQ on the ribs, and above all, friendly service! most places cut corners to save money and time, not here! if you’re looking for something mediocre, order elsewhere. if you’re looking for something exceptional, your new favorite restaurant is calling you“

“A small takeout Chinese eatery with a fairly standard menu selection bearing high average prices. Hong Kong Express serves americanized Chinese fare. Set in a small strip mall, there seems to be adequate parking. Upon entering, the first impression is clean. Featuring newer furnishings, decor and construction. As a child took my order and payment, this is clearly a family business.
So I've only had one dish at this place. I can say for freshness of ingredients, it's excellent. For amount of meat added, average. Unfortunately my dish was extremely bland. I had to add 7 packets of various sauce and that was still not enough. As I make this dish at home, the main sauce is soy. I wish I had grabbed more.
Speaking of sauce, no sauce, forks, chopsticks or napkins were added or offered. I'm glad I checked and added on my own.
This business succeeds in 2 major ways most other Chinese places don't (freshness and cleanliness). I hope I just caught an off dish. I'd return, but until I had a better dish, I wouldn't recommend.“

I've tried other Chinese takeout places in the area, and China Wok is the only one that I've been satisfied with. I love their Crab Rangoon and like to get Beef Chow Fun. “Surprising we hadn’t tried this place all these years living here as it was a lovely lunch we recently had.

Famous Freddy served us and treated us like long lost friends even though it was our first time. Table service is nice with tablecloths and a nice decor. Our special requests were accommodated and Freddy regaled us with lively conversation.

We enjoyed the cold sesame noodles, the sauce a little on the loose side for my taste but it was fine otherwise. Vegetable Lo Mein was as expected and the General Tso’s tofu was also very good. I prefer a different style for the sauce(darker/spicier) and tofu(firm ripped pieces vs soft cubes) but I’ve had this style before as well and it’s fine.

Addl hot sauce was provided and overall we enjoyed the meal.“

And that means another night I didn't get to go to my regular place.\n\nTonight, we did take out from a place in Sayreville, NJ called New Lams Garden. One of the things about living in this area is that there's no shortage of great places to pick up a meal and this absolutely applies to Chinese food. \n\nLams is a little bit further out than my regular place but the quality here may make me want to travel the extra miles. \n\nI ordered Beef and Bean Curd with a pork egg roll and got in on a few steamed pork dumplings too. \n\nThe Beef and Bean Curd was perfectly cooked. The vegetables they used were all cooked perfectly. They were all drenched in a delectable brown sauce and snapped when you bit them. The egg roll was a bit greasy but more meaty than the ones that are usually available in this area. Appreciated! And the dumplings are clearly the ones are prepared on site and not just bought from a wholesaler. And I LOVE that. \n\nMy daughter ordered chicken lo mein. You can just tell by the color of the dish how awesome it tasted. \n\nSo yes I still have a solid Chinese place that I will return to and review. But in the mean time, New Lams Garden is more than just an adequate substitute. \n\nPoints were deducted for clunky website with no ability to order online.\n\nOverall Rating: A-\n\nPS--- best thing about Chinese food is LEFTOVERS! “We were planning a big party at our HOA and after trying almost a dozen Chinese Restaurants, that did catering, we tried Cheng Garden.
We knew we'd found gold when every dish we tested tasted like what we ordered, instead of all having one flavor. The chicken, beef & pork were tender and not fatty, the vegetables were fresh and crispy and the flavors were delightful.
They couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant to deal with and their prices were right in line.
On the day of the party, all the trays were ready for pick up at the specified time, packed in boxes and piping hot. One box was accidentally left behind and Cheng Garden immediately ran it over.
But the best part of all was that everyone loved the food. The party was in June and we're still getting great reviews and members requesting Cheng's address.

I don't know how the ratings are not higher for this place. The chicken wings were some of my favorite fried wings that I've had. They were big, flavorful, cooked to perfection, and had a hint of spice. The shrimp and broccoli was delicious and the shrimp were big. We also had egg foo yung and my mom loved it. The only criticism I would have is that I would want more soy sauce on the rice for flavor, but even that was a small thing. I would rate this place a 4.7 out of 5. I live about an hour away but if I'm in the are again, I would definitely make it a point to stop here. Loved the food, service, and the place itself. The egg and shrimp rolls have a good amount of flavor. Ordered the Singapore noodle and it had sugar added and what seemed to be cinnamon, so ask for ingredients before ordering. Clean, takeout only right now.“

It's very rare that I've ordered anything that I don't have to add anything to salt or pepper soy sauce duck sauce that type of things, but I haven't had to add anything to enhance the flavor of their food everything I've ordered from there has been just perfectly delicious!!! The one dish that I've absolutely fell in love with is there shrimp noodle soup! It's packed with noodles and they're not stingy with the shrimp! And the gravy that comes with their Egg Foo Young is exquisite. I've decided that every time I order (and mind you I really don't like to experiment when it comes to food) but I'm going to try at least one thing that I have never tried before. So far I've had the house special fried rice, the house special lo mein, the house special egg foo young, the chicken noodle soup, the egg drop wonton mix soup and again I'm going to mention the shrimp noodle soup. The rice is perfectly done that comes with the egg foo young. Anyway I just want it to get my opinion on what I think is great takeout. One day soon I'm going to actually go and dine in. There online ordering is good in capturing most of the menu and allows for additions or changes. There is a small convenience fee for online orders though.“
