Each wonton is loaded with shrimp and seasoned well. Restaurant is nothing fancy, but service and food are excellent. I will definitely go back.“

Refreshing and perfectly sweet, handmade Mango Pomelo Coconut Panna Cotta Tea (no soft drinks here). Took a chance on the Shanghai Pan-fried Pork Buns, because it looked yummy at another table. “This is the only place I feel safe ordering in from as someone with food allergies. I have a dairy and gluten allergy and they are so accommodating with the dishes. You get big portions for a good price and the food is always so fresh. I also have a super stomach with some problems so I always feel icky eating out and since the food is cooked in high quality oil I never feel icky after eating here which is SO rare for me. The owner is incredibly kind and told me how she also has food allergies and is happy to make modifications and help. It’s so rare that restaurants welcome modifications and she always does so for me. I’ve never gotten sick here and it’s the one restaurant I feel comfortable ordering in from and look forward to doing so every week. The entire staff is helpful and are always kind and respectful even when the phone is ringing like crazy and there’s a line for pick up. They never rush you and always make you feel welcome. The food arrived within 30 minites and was piping hot! The hot & sour soup is full of flavor and veggies and mushrooms. It is exceptionally tasty. I ordered steamed wontons in garlic sauce and love these! I think these are amazing! I might be addicted to them. The egg roll is crispy and perfectly done. “It was awesome. The wait was only 2 or 3 minutes. Then, when we ordered, the food came out immediately. It was very good, and the sauces tasted great with it. The couple left the table and the server went to seat her friends. The host stopped her and sat us. Kudos to the host. The other diners were very friendly, even offering tastes of their meal. I
ordered gluten free king pao chicken. It was a bit heavy on celery and salt, and a bit light on chicken. But, it's been so long since I've had Chinese food, I didn't care. Super fresh food. We would definitely go back.“

We tried their soup dumplings, beef noodles, and mount qi spicy beef noodles. Well seasoned, actually spicy when requested, and once more, great portions. “A small takeout Chinese eatery with a fairly standard menu selection bearing high average prices. Hong Kong Express serves americanized Chinese fare. Set in a small strip mall, there seems to be adequate parking. Upon entering, the first impression is clean. Featuring newer furnishings, decor and construction. As a child took my order and payment, this is clearly a family business.
So I've only had one dish at this place. I can say for freshness of ingredients, it's excellent. For amount of meat added, average. Unfortunately my dish was extremely bland. I had to add 7 packets of various sauce and that was still not enough. As I make this dish at home, the main sauce is soy. I wish I had grabbed more.
Speaking of sauce, no sauce, forks, chopsticks or napkins were added or offered. I'm glad I checked and added on my own.
This business succeeds in 2 major ways most other Chinese places don't (freshness and cleanliness). I hope I just caught an off dish. I'd return, but until I had a better dish, I wouldn't recommend.“

“I ordered fried dumplings and Chicken Fried rice. The texture of the rice is good but the taste is a little blunt. But adding the hot sauce made it good to eat. I guess I forgot to say to make it spicy. But the taste is really good. With the fried dumpling it's still hot by the time we got home. That's good. But I recommend eating in the restaurant or as soon as possible. if you ordered pick-up, just remember that there is a chance that it gets soggy by the time you get home, but the taste was still good. “This is hands down the best restaurant in NJ right now. The 8 course tasting menu is phenomenal, each dish balanced with unique flavors and texture, and beautiful plated. Our server explained each dish in detail, was extremely knowledgeable of the ingredients and dishes, and very friendly. He consistently topped off our drinks as needed and meticulously provided a new place setting for each course. The ambiance was very relaxing as we sat on the 2nd floor, with beautiful hip, modern decor. I was particularly intrigued by the faucet in the bathroom which was very unique. The overall attention to detail from the concept and design to the food and service is what sets it apart. Fine dining at its best with a relaxed atmosphere that easily compares to a Michelin star restaurant.
