The dinner experience at this restaurant was fantastic. The service was excellent, as was the food. For an authentic Portuguese dining experience, I highly recommend Adega. I saw other reviews saying it was pricey, but it's in line with the quality and the service, so I would say that you're going to get exactly what you pay for...Great food, great service, and great atmosphere.
Adega has always been our go to on Ferry st. Experience always a positive one, not tonight. Had a res for 6ppl. We arrived separately. We were waiting oh so patiently at the host stand roughly 12-15 mins. Every employee while doing other tasks noticed us and never once approached. Like we were invisible. Restaurant was severely understaffed. Was noticed and ignored too too long. When finally seated, waited forever to be greeted, servers first night on job, Saturday night! We invited...
I go out of my way to stay in Newark because of the Adega Grill. I have been visiting this establishment every other year or so for the past ten years. Last night I started off with a cocktail in the lounge. The bartender was great and made a perfect old fashioned. I moved to the restaurant for dinner, hosting my son and his friend. Since it was a celebration dinner, we ordered the Tomahawk steak for my son and his friend to share. They said it was incredible and prepared to perfection....
