OK - it’s a hotel restaurant, it’s hard to create a vibe - but this place is very attractive, tasteful high-quality decor, quiet enough to converse in, with very cordial waiters. The grilled salmon dish with vegetables and rice is truly outstanding- among the best I have ever had!

My son and I traveled to Newark, NJ on Friday, February 14th, for a special gift for my son who wanted to see a famous comedian and now was old enough to see him. We went to the Medallion for dinner after the show, but we first told they weren't serving anymore, even though this was 1010PM and they.were due to stay open till 11pm. Also the restaurant only had 1 couple sitting and a whole lot of staff just standing around. Finally another gentleman came up to us and said they sat the last table at 930 but we could do a to go order. We ordered the food 2 salmon meals and 2 desserts. I spent $104 and was happy to get a dinner that both my son and I wanted. We got back to our hotel to eat and was unable to eat the meal as it had so much salt it was uneatable. Luckily my son could eat his dessert (lava cake) but I could not because they put a berry topping on my cheesecake I wanted plain and I am allergic. So sadly we did not get the sit down experience we wanted and if we had, we could have caught the food and sent it back to be corrected. I have tried calling and the manager and he has not been there when I call, but I am going to continue to call and see if they will do anything about this. If they remedy this I will do an update.

We started the night entering and it was just empty. I mean it already looked sad. So cool whatever we get to our table, which we were fine with, but we slowly noticed that everyone around us just looked unsatisfied. But when I tell you by the end of the night almost every single person in ear shot kept saying their food was watery(the pasta) or the mashed potatoes were just disgusting, you need to trust me here. Not a single person liked their food there. No one even wanted to try and order again, we all just kinda knew everything was going to be the same subpar slop served on a cheap plate with the sad excuse for a candle to light it up. Honestly; keep it in the dark. The worst part tho? When the check came and we got hit with a horrible gratuity tip amount that we were NOT told about. I’m sorry but that needs to be added to the menu so people who don’t have oodles and oodles of money can plan accordingly. I got the salmon and by the way? I’m still picking out bones from my teeth. I wanted to tell those coming in to RUN!!!

Joseph is the absolutely most perfect person to represent your restaurant and hotel. He went above and beyond to accommodate us EVEN with a short staff. The meal, service , atmosphere, servers and especially Joseph will bring us back again!

I wasn't aware the restaurant was in a hotel and it was a little hard to locate. But, my wife and I are glad we found it. The atmosphere was quaint and quiet. Our server, Joseph did his job well. We didn't have to wait all evening for our food. It was brought to us promptly and the presentation was excellent. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. And again, kudos to Joseph for his service. I had the t-bone, mashed potatoes, asparagus and rice w/bean sauce. My wife ordered steak w/onions and french fries. We both had salads. All foods were cooked to perfection. Very tasty. If there's a negative to our visit, it's the portions are large. I'm a big eater and I had to carry home leftovers. To much food. I highly recommend a visit.

The quality of food is subpar compared to price. Our waitress was amazing however upon bringing up our issues to the manager we felt unheard. I ordered the risotto and it came out dry and tasteless, he then proceeded to insult me and ask if I knew what risotto was. Refused to do anything about it stating I’d eaten 3/4 of my dish when in fact it was about 1/4. We weren’t asking for a comped bill but something for the lack of food quality. 0/10 do I recommend ever going back to this place.
