Playa Bowls Reviews
If you’re looking for an amazing pre- or post-workout treat — or just something delicious to satisfy your sweet tooth without feeling guilty — this place is it. The service is always wonderful, and the Cowabunga Smoothie is one of my personal favorites.
Everything they serve is made with natural, organic ingredients, so you don’t have to worry about a bunch of ultra-processed stuff going into your body. It’s refreshing to find a spot that focuses on quality while...read full review
They utilize delivery apps to optimize their customers, but treat the drivers themselves badly. Won't allow the drivers to use the restroom even in an emergency/medical case. Claims they "respect" their drivers, but I never been to a restaurant who denies the drivers a basic necessity because they "aren't a customer". Based on the reviews, Playa Bowls is a great choice for a pre- or post-workout treat or a quick energy boost. Everything is made with natural, organic ingredients, so customers do not have to worry about ultra-processed stuff. The food is great, with fresh fruit and specific menu items like the Cowabunga Smoothie, green smoothie, and 8th Ave Açaí bowl. However, service can be inconsistent. While some staff, like Tiffany, are described as super sweet and helpful, other reviews mention slow service, rude staff, and employees engaged in deep conversation before acknowledging customers. At one location, a witness reported a very uncomfortable and disrespectful situation between employees and a manager. The açaí can also be a problem, as it is not always stored at the right environment and can turn into soup within five minutes. For the best experience, customers should set low expectations on service but can still expect good food.
