“I usually never leave reviews but I had to make an exception to highlight this very special restaurant. I went with my mother and father after a long day of cleaning, and we found this spot on a whim. It was small spot, but the atmosphere was very warm, welcoming and very family oriented. At first, we were a little disappointed that there wasn’t a lot of items available on the menu but after learning that the chef was an elder we completely understood, and knew without a doubt no matter what was being cooked, with an elder mama in the kitchen the food was going to be fire - and they did not disappoint! We wound up getting the pollo guisado special because it was Sunday, some acapulias and the pernil frita. When I tell you everything was amazing?! Everything, was truly amazing. The rice, the chicken and especially the acapulias. You can taste how fresh and quality all the ingredients were, and we all left feeling extremely nourished (which to me is rare to find on the boardwalk). My father even told me that the the atmosphere took him back to his childhood and the food reminded him of his grandmother’s cooking in Viequez. This restaurant is truly good for the soul, and the taste is the definition of Latin soul food. Everyone should go, and I hope that sweet abuelita in the kitchen passes on those recipes to the babies. 10/10“
