This place is a kind of gem. So clean and thoughtful service. The amount of food is a lot and taste is good as well. "Halmae kalgooksoo" is so tasty. I am gonna visit it again soon.

It was my first time here and the seafood kalguksu was so delicious. It's full of seafood, the broth is delicious, the servers are very friendly, and I highly recommend the soft tofu seafood kalguksu when you're craving something spicy. It's too bad I live far away and can't come often.

I ate at Halmae Noodle recently but I am already thinking about the next time I can come here. Located on Broad Ave, Halmae is a no frills Korean restaurant that specializes in kalguksu. My boyfriend and I ordered the jeyuk and hanchi deopbap respectively. I absolutely loved the hanchi and the contrast of the hot squid with the cold veggies was really nice. Also, the squid definitely had a wok-hei taste (if you're Cantonese you know this amazing taste) that I was really surprised by since I never tasted that in the numerous Korean restaurants I've eaten at. Even though it was level 2 spicy, it wasn't super spicy at all. I believe each dish for ours was a little over $14. In this economy? Amazing. Will definitely come here again to try more of the menu!

I was craving noodles soup and this place hit the spot. The noodles are made fresh! Tried the spicy beef noodle soup because it was popular and it did not disappoint! Although it looks very red, It's not too spicy which I'm thankful for because I can't handle that much spice. The noodles were very soft yet chewy. The beef seemed like it was slow cooked very well. The vegetables are mostly just scallions. The portion is quite large- be prepared to take leftovers home unless you have a big appetite! The establishment is pretty small, but located on a major street in palisades park. The service is very good and fast!

My wife and I ate here because she was looking for Ramyeon noodles. The food is very delicious and they serve you large portions. The prices are very affordable. We will definitely come back.

TLDR: Local spot in Pal Park that specializes in knife-cut noodles (kalguksu) and thick dough flakes (sujebi). Yukaejang noodles, clam noodles, mandu.Friend in the area recommended this place and we checked it out one weekend. I like restaurants that specialize really in one thing and don't fall into the trap of having a menu with 80 items on it.The mandu was adequately filled, thin wrapper, steamed, local mom/pop shop flavor. Great. The tonkatsu that I got a few bites of was thinly coated, crispy, tender - solid. The yukaejang kalguksu. This is a big portion, it's got good heat, it's rich, it's flavorful. Definitely the main thing I'd recommend here and why this guy goes here all the time. The clam kalguksu (or sujebi) was equally tasty. That broth is nice and rich with clam juice, anchovy flavor - a perfect pairing with either the noodles or those thick doughy bites. My only regret is I don't live closer to here because I'd probably be a regular too.

I highly recommend this place. The noodles taste great! The dish portions are huge! The price is also excellent. What else more would anyone ask for? Go and you will believe it.

All the food is delicious. The kimchi is also delicious. The kalguksu and the pork cutlet are all delicious. The pork cutlet is really crunchy. This is my first time having a crispy pork cutlet like this. But please change the sauce. Everything is delicious except the sauce.

Auntie’s hand pulled noodles just the way you like. The clams in light broth is number one best dish.Vegetarian options: There’s at least a couple good ones.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. My husband and I love coming here for dinner on Friday nights. I believe this place is known for noodle soup (kulguksu) but what I love is their spicy stir-fry pork with rice (jeyuk deopbap). It comes with veggies and you mix with the sauce and eat with rice and it's such delicious, comfort food. It's delightful. I also love their kimchi and the fried dumplings. I especially love this clear soup that they provide you with on the side with an entree. It just warms my heart, especially on a cold day. The service is exceptional. They pay close attention and caters to your every need. And I couldn't help but notice the tables are squeaky clean! Naturally, all of this makes for a solid dinner or lunch at this place.

I ordered mushroom kalguksu, but there were no mushrooms and only a lot of pumpkin. Mushroom kalguksu... I think they should change the name.

I was not that hungry. Drove into the area to have dinner unsure of whether this was the right choice. Well it was. The bowl can be shared by two people and the shrimp mandu. So good. Maybe because I haven't really had a deep fried dumpling in a minute. Spicy dish was just right on point with the spice. The fact that it was steaming hot compounded the heat. The clams one was refreshing compared to the spicy noodle soup and absolutely loaded with clams. Heavy heavy hand there. No complaints from me. Service was speedy as expected and ambiance was exactly what you expect from a soup restaurant during a winter evening. 10/10 will go back.
